European Parliament wants to ban neo-fascist groups

Faced with the upsurge in xenophobia in Europe, MEPs want to take firm action against neo-fascist and neo-Nazi groups, which currently benefit from a certain level of discretion in several countries. EurActiv France reports.

Xenophobia is fueled by neo-fascist and neo-Nazi groups in Europe, which should be banned as a matter of urgency, the European Parliament demanded on Thursday (25 October).

MEPs have adopted a resolution condemning the surge in the number of incidents related to hatred and intolerance in Europe. The resolution also calls for action to be taken against small far-right groups which fuel the rise in xenophobia.

According to the resolution — which was adopted with 355 votes in favor, 90 against and 39 abstentions — “the lack of serious action against neo-fascist and neo-Nazi groups has enabled the occurrence of the current xenophobic surge in Europe”.

MEPs notably pointed at the rise in serious attacks motivated by xenophobia, such as the 2011 attacks in Norway, the murder of British MP Jo Cox and even the recent attack on MEP Eleonara Forenzo by small fascist groups in Italy.

The resolution calls on member states, among other things, to condemn and sanction hate crimes and hate speech in the strongest terms. Moreover, it requests that they ban neo-fascist and neo-Nazi groups or any other foundation or association that exalts and glorifies and glorifies Nazism and fascism.

Another lever for action advocated by MEPs is the fight against online hate speech. The internet is the main vehicle for the dissemination of racist, fascist and xenophobic speech. …

So use bans on fascists and neo-Nazis as a vehicle to curtail free speech on a wider scale for normal people, rather than to stop the activities of the terrorists in question. Typical EU.

How about banning Islamic terrorists? You know the ones that rape women and stab people to death.

Islam seems to be quite fascistic.

Let me guess, the EU will define NeoFascist as anyone who is skeptical of the EU.

Fascism was established in Spain, Italy, Germany, and elsewhere.

Only Germany had NAZIs.

I oppose Fascism and Communism but the Commies only have a problem with Fascism and are quick to label anyone to the right of their positions as “Fascist”.

I think it was ill considered for Donald Trump to say he was an Nationalist. I understand what he meant but he could have more simply said “American” and everyone around the world knows what that is and that it is different than everywhere else.

There are people who identify as “white nationalists” and “black nationalists” and “separatists” etc but “American” has no such divisions. America was founded on a number of principles.

The Commies main problem with Fascism is that the two compete for the same bloc of voters - statists.

When sees the MSM community use “phobia”, it’s time to stop reading.
These clowns daily demonstrate that they really have not reached intermediate school cognitive level, let alone anything approaching real intellect.

If you look at Mussolini’s rhetoric, it’s clear that there is no difference between fascism and communism.

Same goes for Adolf and others that promulgate national socialism—no difference between that and communism either.

However, “nationalism” by itself is unrelated to either. The left takes that word and falsely conflates it with (and tries to make it synonymous with) jingoism, misoxeny (which is hatred of foreigners versus xenophobia i.e. fear thereof), Chauvinism (the real thing, not “male Chauvinism”), ad nauseam.

Of course.
Because Communists don’t want the competition for authoritarian tyranny.

The difference is, ISIS is not neo-fascist, it is straight, original design fascist, from long before the term was even invented.

The pure original strain of fascism.

The fasces were a bundle of rods and a single axe which were carried as a symbol of magisterial and priestly authority in ancient Rome. They featured prominently in important administrative ceremonies and public processions such as triumphs. The symbol was adopted by later cultures to represent order and strength through unity, notably the fascist movement in Italy in the 20th century.

Somehow, the original meaning of fasces has been corrupted to mean a kind of command-and-control political, legal and economic organization of an entire society, when it was nothing of the sort originally.

The European Commission is a fascist institution that promotes monopoly capitalism (”The Corporation” to use the proper fascist terminology). Does banning neo-fascists mean that the EU is going shut down the EC? If so will they turn to socialism or to capitalism?

Just like the false conflation of the GOP/constitutional conservatives and the national socialists on US soil. Been going on for quite a while, what with the Bush/Hitler false comparisons.

Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

— Fifth plank of communism, per the Manifesto
There is of course, on that basis, no real difference between socialism/communism and “fascism” other than the name. Mussolini’s other rhetoric about social justice and redistribution flesh that out as well.

whenever someone emerges that spout nazi or communist rhetoric they ought to be arrested. theres been enough war ascribed to these ideologies to make their adherence deserving of the death themselves, its only karma that they be repaid and quickly. thats americas problem, we defeat an enemy then 5 years later invite them in to do mayhem.
