Nigel Farage burst out laughing at Mr Tajani’s speech where the President of the European President suggested the Nazis and the Soviet Union were defeated “thanks to the European Union”.

Laughter is the last refuge of the stupid. You should learn to respect other people . . . that's what democracy is all about. You've got no right to not respect other people so please keep quiet.

So you know, you can claim what you want for the European Union, but please do not rewrite European history.

And as a bonus, watch others erupt in laughter when British MEP Syed Kamall says Nazis were National Socialists: "I would remind you when you talk about right-wing extremists, we have to remember that Nazis were National Socialists . . . it's a left-wing ideology. They want the same things as you.

If I remember correctly, the EU was formed in 1957.
If we have to invade Europe one more time I recommend that we annex the best territory from our enemies and deport everybody to the shit land that we don’t want.
Unfortunately for Mr. Tajani, there are still people who remember who made the sacrifices and liberated Europe from Hitler’s Germany.
Too soon, Mr. Tajani. Wait another 50-100 years, and perhaps your descendants can rewrite history and get away with it.
Nazis were the EU.
Heck, I would have broke out in laughter. Comedians like Whoppie Goldberg were stupid. However, comedians like George Carlin were pure genuis.
Minor little point there. At one time the entire EU was Nazi Germany. So they defeated themselves ?
The EU are the progressive socialists. They are in no way pro freedom. They want to regulate and tax every aspect of life under their control.
Interesting situation. The EU was largely the child of Otto von Habsburg. Otto was anti-Nazi.

WWII ended in 1945.
The Treaty of Paris (1951), and later the Treaty of Rome (1958) which established the European Economic Community (EEC) was the start of European Union which only became official in 1992.
Apparently the gentleman did not do well in grade school math or is just a plain damn liar. I suspect liar.
Oddly the old EEC was a brilliant idea of free trade among European nations and it worked well. When it morphed into the European Union that became a multinational government of nations, it sowed its own destruction. Brits do not want a German telling them how to conduct internal affairs of their nation thus we had Brexit. The Brits were quite happy with the old EEC as everybody benefited and internal affairs were the province of each nation.
The United States, Canada, Australia, the Free French and other minor allies defeated the Nazis along with a huge Russian army hell bent on vengeance. They did extract vengeance and hegemony in Eastern Europe and thus the cold war started. We should have listened to Patton, he knew.

To my mind, today’s EU is a lot like the Nazi’s New Order.
Mr. Tajani adjusted his comments (reported by the BBC) to say, "Seventy years of peace have existed in Europe since the two horrible dictatorships and that is due to the European Union. . ."
Apparently Eastern Europe, or BRD for that matter, doesn't count.
This kind of crap is typical of Yurps. (Western European elites). They want to rewrite history to suit their Leftist dogma. You can possibly get away with that on the continent. However, there are many in Britain and throughout the British Empire and many in America who know their actual history and won’t let the Yurps get away with their BS.
Oh...and the National SOCIALISTS were.........wait for it....SOCIALISTS. They were on the LEFT - not the right. State SOCIALISTS (ie Commies) were also on the LEFT not the right. Europe’s catastrophe circa 75 years ago came at the hands of the LEFT - not the right. No amount of lying is going to change that.
Making the fake real. It’s an out of control epidemic here in the states. This is a result of, or feature of, the belief that there is no absolute right or wrong. Facts are fuzzy.
Both World Wars were well under way before the US entered them. And the USA itself didn’t win either war. But the uncomfortable truth (for some) is that whichever side the US decided to enter on, that side was going to win. Period. In either World War.
And if not for the US entry into WWII, the Soviet Sector of Germany would have ended where the English Channel starts. And the Russians would have finished what the Nazi Concentration Camps began.
I forgot to mention the Brits mighty contribution to defeating the NAZIs. Their RAF burned most of the German Cities to the ground and their troops were with us on D Day and the march to Germany. Well done Brits.
There’s a story of an early League of Nations meeting in Paris. The language to be used was English because of the Americans. A French delegate was angry; he demanded to know why they had to speak English.
He was told that, if it weren’t for the Americans, they’d be speaking German.
