Roughly one year after U.S. Attorney John Huber was appointed to investigate whether accusations that the FBI and Justice Department abused their powers during the 2016 election season merit prosecution, his work remains shrouded in mystery.
Likely witnesses tell The Washington Times that they havent heard from him, though they are eager to tell what they know.
Nor has Mr. Huber kept congressional overseers in the loop on his activities.
I would just like to know what hes doing, Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, told The Times. Ill take anything. All I know is that we havent heard a single thing about what hes doing.
Mr. Jordan, a member of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees, said those panels have not received any reports or updates from Mr. Huber since his appointment. He and Rep. Mark Meadows, North Carolina Republican, sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions last week asking for an update.
Mr. Meadows told The Times it is imperative that Mr. Huber appear before Congress to detail what he has been doing.
I have not seen a lot of evidence that Mr. Huber has done anything other than be appointed by Jeff Sessions, he said. Its been portrayed that hes making great progress, but Im not sure there is a whole lot to show for it other than rhetoric right now. Im not aware of any substantial work that hes doing.
Mr. Sessions secretly picked Mr. Huber last fall to dig into whether the FBI misused its power when it obtained a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. He also is supposed to be reviewing whether the FBI mishandled investigations into 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Completely wrong story.
Here’s what Huber was appointed to:
Can you say Sealed Indictments?
January.
This should be fun.
I'm drinking wine and eating cheese, and catching some rays, you know.
Even if Huber or Congress finds anything the Obama holdover prosecutors will decline to prosecute and nothing will happen thanks to Jeff Sessions. It would not surprise me if someone appealed to his honor and the “good of the country and it’s institutions” argument wherein evidence of corruption is found but to protect the “legitimacy” of DOJ/FBI it’s swept under the rug. But, as most on this forum would agree, by doing so legitimacy is lost and precedent set for future political malfeasance.
Yup. Huber was not appointed to prosecute anyone outside his jurisdiction. Can’t. 6th Amendment directly prohibits it.
“In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed; which district shall have been previously ascertained by law...”
“All I know is that we havent heard a single thing about what hes doing.
That is a clue. He is either doing nothing, or destroying evidence, or running out the clock — he hopes.
He was appointed by Sessions, who also appointed Rosenstein.
All it takes to get Huber’s direction is to notice what Sessions and Rosenstein are not doing.

Sessions Stops Short of Second Special Counsel, Appoints Prosecutor to Investigate FBI
Lol
Nothing will happen. By now I am sure the bad guys have gotten word to him that an “ill wind will blow his way” should he happen upon something.
For reals.
Good. Exactly as it should be.
which January?
2073?
The only money quote:
“... upon the conclusion of his review, will receive his recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel.”
That’s not someone who is convening grand juries and prosecuting. It’s an internal review, the reason for the Advisory Committee.
Always with the negative waves, Moriarty, always with the negative waves...

The appointment of Huber was a delaying tactic.
By dragging it out, Sessions and Huber are waiting until records such as text messages are purged in the ordinary course of business by the telco and internet providers.
They don’t want to do anything that would reflect badly on their beloved hallowed DOJ and FBI even if that means people who plotted to rig or overthrow an American presidential election go free for lack of evidence.
