In a hearing in a Washington, D.C. courtroom on Monday, Eric Dubelier of the American law firm Reed Smith argued that the case against the Russian consulting company known as Concord, which allegedly operated a troll factory in which the Russians created or stole the identities of hundreds of Americans online in order to sow discord and spread propaganda, should be dismissed.
If people lying about who they are on the Internet and engaging in political speech is a crime, he argued, then every politician in America would be in prison.
This argument is beyond belief, Dubelier said. They want to regulate what people say on the internet.
It was special counsel Robert Muellers office, he said, who made up a crime to fit the facts they have.

Judge Orders Mueller To Prove Russian Company Meddled In Election
Concord Management and Consulting, LLC. - one of three businesses indicted by Mueller in February along with 13 individuals for election meddling, surprised the special counsel in April when they actually showed up in court to fight the charges. Mueller's team tried to delay Concord from entering the case, arguing that the Russian company not been properly served, however Judge Dabney Friedrich denied the request - effectively telling prosecutors 'well, they're here.'

Muellar made something up? No, that couldnt possibly happen, could it? Not in a million years. /S
I’ve thought this for the longest time. Accusing someone of spreading disinformation on the Internet is like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500. Even worse, getting in the business of regulating “truth” is very dangerous and highly biased, especially when it comes to interpreting what is essentially political propaganda.
Dan Coats is deeply concerned.
This was Hillary’s dream back in the 90s. When Monica-gate hit she was outraged and right away perceived that internet CONTENT must be government regulated and wanted that to be her big signature push. Too bad she blew all her political capital on her failed healthcare plan. She saw early the power soon to be unleashed and made a serious power play to grab control.
I recommend you all to read this old book and be astonished. Her goals are now being executed on internet freedom.

Lawfare is about railroading people into prison, or out of office. When there's no more recourse to law, all that remains is recourse to lawlessness. Dibs on RMIII
OMG, laughing so hard!! I loved my trolls when I was a kid!
“If people lying about who they are on the Internet and engaging in political speech is a crime, he argued, then every politician in America would be in prison.”
And not just on the internet... It’s a tolerated occupation... Political Representatives make a whole career based on misrepresentation...
