Here is the strategy, and there is not a lot of time to get this done, so...
Receive permission form Mexico to place several thousand unarmed troops or national guardsmen/Army Corps of Engineers in the path of the “caravan” within Mexico. Set up tents kitchens, laundry and medical facilities. Detain the entire group, after being deputized by the Mexican government to do so. House them, feed them, give them medical care while systematically identifying all of them using bio-metrics. Build an identification database (including perhaps DNA.) Set up a limited use airfield and fly in military transport planes in a Berlin Airlift (in reverse) process. Fly them home to wherever they came from. Release them with food, $50 and clean clothes. Say adios!
Critical point - they never set foot inside the US. Once that happens you will have a TRO filed in the 9th Circuit to prevent deportation. That might even be filed preemptively. The courts have no jurisdiction over non-citizens who are not physically within the US. As we know from other reports this week in AZ - ICE folks have their detention facilities filled to overflowing - so that any new asylum seekers will have to be paroled into the US with instructions to attend a future hearing date. Which they never show up for. Thus they become resident aliens until they are detected, if ever.
