The calculation is this by leftists: Force Trump to put troops at the border. Embed press with sob stories of migrants fleeing violence, show sad children, and make Trump into Bull Connor 2.0 keeping out asylum-seekers with tanks.
If they're lucky, the press will get one photo of a dead child like the Muslim boy on the beach to plaster all over U.S. newspapers. "He drowned on the way across the border and it's Trump's fault!"
This is all pre-scripted, funded, 'news' stories already written.
Looking at the background; it looks like a perfectly good country to stay in.
This invasion daily and in caravans must be stopped at all costs.

I agree entirely. This is being staged as a photo-op and fuel for the anti-Republican media. That's why it was/is my opinion that the response to this needs to be very strategic. I realize that no matter what is done, the media will still try to spin it against Trump and the Republicans, but a smart response will nullify this.
I got hammered for this yesterday, by those who are understandably angry and who want a strong response - involving troops on the border. I get it, and I strongly believe we should stop all illegal immigration. That said, I would favor a ‘catch, feed, and immediately transport back’ approach - in military transports with physicians on board. Emphasize humane treatment, along with resolve to protect our border.
If they apply for asylum, still transport them back, with the idea that they can stay in their home country while their applications for asylum are being processed. Let them know that if they try to cross the border again in the interim, their application for asylum will be rescinded and they will not be allowed to apply again.
Concomitantly make it clear to the leadership of their home countries that they are being accused by their own citizens of being corrupt and failing them, and if they do anything to harm those sent back, they will be held accountable - and all funding assistance to them will cease.
It’s essential to stop them THERE!
Call in the UN to set up refugee camps and make Mexico feed them….until/unless Mexico wants to send them home…..

Agree the optics of troops with fixed bayonets facing women and children is what Dems want. They want Trump to overreact.
I would not put it past cartels and Dem operatives to murder half a dozen children by drowning them on the border to get those heart string tug photos they need to manipulate public opinion.
Mexico is getting over 25% of its GDP from cash wired back there. They are cooperating and enabling this and profiting from it.

We better know their entry points and have hundreds of buses ready along with a truckload of food, water and diapers. Every last one should be driven to the southern border of Mexico and they could work it out from there where home is. Lot of expense for America, but money well spent. ie aid money from the countries.
May I add one idea to your fine plan. Every person who is sent back is first photographed with their name and address and fingerprinted.

I wouldn't either. We need to have the drones up 24x7 monitoring everything second by second - all recorded. I don't trust the left in any context except in their ability to be destructive.
