How Obama Treated Slain Journalists
American Thinker.com ^ | October 20, 2018 | Daniel John Sobieski

As facts are gathered concerning the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the foreign-policy implications are pondered by a liberal chattering class willing to blame President Trump when a sparrow falls from a tree, consider the reaction by President Barack Hussein Obama to the murder of journalists and the press treatment of a president who actually bowed to a Saudi king.

President Trump’s caution against a rush to judgment concerning our Saudi allies has the press moaning that the condemnation of the Saudis is not coming fast enough or will not be harsh enough. Any reaction comes in the context of the need to keep Iran from building a deliverable nuclear weapon or otherwise expanding its hegemony in the Middle East. Listening to Trump’s critics could easily result in a strategic disaster as we sit after the gust clears in our smug anti-Trump motivated self-righteousness/

Journalists should not be slain by authoritarians, tyrants, or ideological fanatics for their views, but they have been, and in the case of President Obama with an attitude of callous indifference. Has the media forgotten the attack on the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which, along with a deli attacked at the same time, the Obama administration dismissed as the victims just being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

The lives of the four Jews killed in a kosher market in Paris were dismissed by Obama as "a bunch of folks in a deli" shot "randomly" as they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

After the attack on that kosher market and on Charlie Hebdo, President Obama didn’t have time to join other world leaders in a moving protest march in the streets of Paris.

Oh, but it was a love story. Him going in to get permission to marry his fiance and her waiting expectantly outside. Bring out the tissues.

“Name a day when Muslims didn’t kill Muslims”

January first, AD 569. One year before the birth of that son of Satan (AKA Mohammed).

Was it Obama or Hillary that locked journalists in a closet one time during the Obama years?

There were no Muslims to be killed or to carry out a killing. So while your statement is technically correct, it's only because there were no Muslims. Thus it is totally incorrect. 8>)

Also. I have his date of birth as April 22, 571 AD, though some sources just say 570 A.D. But he still didn't found Islam until about age 40 (somewhere around 610-611 A.D.) and it wasn't readily accepted until about 629, roughly 3 years before he died in 632.

TMI.

No one needs to know that much about that evil man. Kidding of course. I figured it was safest to go back to before his birth. It’s just a shame he was ever born.

All of this related to Kashoggi has absolutely nothing to do with the USA. He’s an Islamist who, if he was killed, was killed by another Islamic regime. How the hell is that our fault? It’s not our problem, nor did we cause it!

It’s a shame that his “religion” only started to catch on 3 before he died. Had he died sooner, we might not even ave that as a “religion” to contend with. I put religion in quotes, because I personally do not view it as such. It is a cult.

His father was a gun-runner. His murder was prob a tribal Hatfield - McCoy killing that goes back a generation or more. Stay out of the Saud or Saudi country affairs.

The Saudi gov’t and MbS is well on his way to being the 900# gorilla in the ME. He’s pro-western, trying to raise SA social order to a 21st Century level which Khashoggi railed against. Carter screwed up bigly by not supporting the Shah of Iran which resulted in 40+ years of ME turmoil.

Yea, the last thing the MB wants is for its members to enter the 21st Century.

I agree about Carter, the Shah wasn’t perfection, but what it there now isn’t an improvement unless you consider the stone age an improvement.

HERE'S WHAT OBAMA DID TO A LIVING JOURNALIST---At his comeback appearance, Obama lacerated Trump, saying: " I complained plenty about Fox News, but you never heard me call them enemies of the people.” (Source —--comeback rally at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign).

REALITY CHECK----N-o-o-o-o, he didnt do that....he just unleashed the full force of the DOJ, in the person of AG Eric Holder, to pounce on Fox reporter James Rosen AND to intimidate Rosen's family. Holder and Obama issued a court order for Fox News reporter James Rosen's emails, that labeled Rosen a criminal "co-conspirator." More likely Fox News said things or published stories Obama didn't like.......or got too close to unveiling his criminality.

==================================================

theguardian.com
Circa 2013

Obama and AG Holder did more than seize a Fox News reporter’s emails while suggesting he was a criminal “co-conspirator” in a leak case — it did so under one of the most serious wartime laws in America, the Espionage Act. It is now well known that the Obama justice department has prosecuted more government leakers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all prior administrations combined - in fact, double the number of all such prior prosecutions.

But as the controversy over the Obama and Holder’s pursuit of the phone records of AP reporters illustrated, this obsessive fixation in defense of secrecy also targets, and severely damages, journalists specifically and the news-gathering process in general.

New revelations emerged yesterday in the Washington Post that are perhaps the most extreme yet when it comes to the DOJ’s attacks on press freedoms. It involves the prosecution of State Department adviser Stephen Kim, a naturalized citizen from South Korea who was indicted in 2009 for allegedly telling Fox News’ chief Washington correspondent, James Rosen, that US intelligence believed North Korea would respond to additional UN sanctions with more nuclear tests - something Rosen then reported. Kim did not obtain unauthorized access to classified information, nor steal documents, nor sell secrets, nor pass them to an enemy of the US.

Instead, the DOJ alleges that he merely communicated this innocuous information to a journalist - something done every day in Washington - and, for that, this arms expert and long-time government employee faces more than a decade in prison for “espionage”.

The focus of a Post report is that the Obama DOJ’s surveillance of Rosen extended far beyond even what Obama did to AP reporters. The FBI tracked Rosen’s movements in and out of the State Department, traced the timing of his calls, and - most amazingly - obtained a search warrant to read two days worth of his emails, as well as all of his emails with Kim. In this case, said the Post, “investigators did more than obtain telephone records of a working journalist suspected of receiving the secret material.” It added that “court documents in the Kim case reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist”.

But what makes this revelation particularly disturbing is that Obama's DOJ, in order to get this search warrant, insisted that Fox's Rosen - a journalist - committed serious crimes. The DOJ specifically argued that by encouraging his source to disclose classified information - something investigative journalists do every day - Rosen himself broke the law.

Describing an affidavit from FBI agent Reginald Reyes filed by the DOJ, the Post reports [emphasis added]: “Reyes wrote that there was evidence Rosen had broken the law, ‘at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator’. That fact distinguishes his case from the probe of the AP, in which the news organization is not the likely target. Using italics for emphasis, Reyes explained how Rosen allegedly used a ‘covert communications plan’ and quoted from an e-mail exchange between Rosen and Kim that seems to describe a secret system for passing along information. . . .

However, it remains an open question whether it’s ever illegal, given the First Amendment’s protection of press freedom, for a reporter to solicit information. No reporter, including Rosen, has been prosecuted for doing so.” Under US law, it is not illegal to publish classified information. That fact, along with the First Amendment’s guarantee of press freedoms, is what has prevented the US government from ever prosecuting journalists for reporting on what the US government does in secret. This newfound theory of the Obama DOJ - that a journalist can be guilty of crimes for “soliciting” the disclosure of classified information - is a means for circumventing those safeguards and criminalizing the act of investigative journalism itself.

These latest revelations show that this is not just a theory but one put into practice, as the Obama and Holder submitted court documents accusing a journalist of committing crimes by doing this. ---Snip---

You are exactly correct! This is a Saudi situation and none of our business. President Trump should tell anyone who ask that this is an internal affair of a sovereign country. We might not like it but that’s the way it is. Plus, why should we sacrifice our continuing relationship with Saudi Arabia over something completely out of our control.

The Muslim Brootherhood made huge inroads under Obama, and they never went away. Brennan. Jarrett. Ben Rhodes. Etc. And they have fired up their old media echo chamber on this.

All of them are in love with Iran, and HATE MBS for weeding out Muslim Brotherhood stooges in SA.

This is all about the Muslim Brotherhood, in the US, and worldwide. See how much influence they still have? Congress should declare them a terroroist organization. They almost did.

Sharia worldwide is their goal. They all should be killed on sight.
