The judge told him that “the way you treated these girls defies understanding.” That's a big part of the problem right there: After years of reading British media online, again and again and again I see these judges profess to "not understand" why this has been going on for decades.
Any somewhat cognizant person knows exactly how and why has this been happening. Those judges are either idiots or liars; probably both. The only hope for the British going forward is a big purge at all levels of politics and judiciary.
Of course, this is not limited to Britain, but it looks even worse there (and Sweden) than in other Western countries.

This sex trafficking ring had been in operation for along time. It was known by the police and the city council (?) but was repeatedly covered up. Parents were threatened with arrest and prosecution if they were to force the issue. I believe young boys were also trafficked.
