Kicking off a three state western campaign swing on Thursday night, President Donald Trump used a stop in Missoula, Montana to praise a GOP Congressman who assaulted a reporter during a 2017 special election campaign, as the President drew cheers at a campaign rally by calling Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT) my guy.
Any guy that can do a body slam, hes my guy, Mr. Trump said at an airport rally, using his arms to mimic someone throwing another person to the ground.
The President recounted how he been in Rome when he heard that Gianforte had body slammed a reporter in May of 2017 And then I said, wait a minute, I know Montana pretty well, I think it might help him. And it did.
Hes a great guy, tough cookie, Mr. Trump added to the applause of the crowd.
The President of the United States tonight applauded the assault on an American journalist, said Guardian US Editor John Mulholland in a written statement issued after the event.
In the aftermath of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, it runs the risk of inviting other assaults on journalists both here and across the world where they often face far greater threats, Mulholland added, as he called for Mr. Trump to apologize.
He is literally cheering beating the crap out of the press, said Sen. Chris Murhpy (D-CT). Good god.

I guess it doesn’t matter that the maggot “reporter” got up in his face and all personal.
You reap what you sow.
He is literally cheering beating the crap out of the press, said Sen. Chris Murhpy (D-CT). Good god.
Not Good god. ..... it is “GOOD JOB!!!”
NO!
Then it was NOT "assault"!
So what did the reporter do to deserve it?
And where are the aghast media and politicians when Antifa takes a bike lock or baseball bat to someone’s face?
Why should the dems be so shocked when they are the ones ADVOCATING for that very kind of behavior?
So, what REALLY happened?
I’ve heard Jaime Dupree on the radio when traveling through the Atlanta area before. Always tries to present himself as non-partisan, just the facts ma’am kind of guy.
Guess all that’s gone now.
I have warned people to get out of my face.
Especially if they are physically touching me.
I tell them I am taking what they are doing as a physical attack and I will do whatever I feel necessary to defend myself.
They usually back off.
Well, the press doesn’t condemn folks getting in politicians face and assaulting them! [They actually cheer them on.] Turnabouts fair play!
I’d say this one pretty much blew his cover.
I think he pled guilty.
If I remember correctly, the reporter grabbed Gianforte’s arm as he was trying to leave. Gianforte didn’t like it and body slammed him.
Good! The press, and it's political monkeys, on a leash have been calling for violence against half of the American People.
If the cold civil war goes hot, I am sure the presstitutes will be the first to hang.
Wayward comma.
Does the press realize how much they are despised these days?
Read the article...didn’t seem bias just reporting the facts....
What was left out is that the then candidate was never charged since he claimed the reporter assaulted first....
The area was murky enough that prosecutors backed away...
Do we know why he body slammed the reporter? Those details would be relevant. Frankly, it might have been nice if somebody body slammed the reporters who hounded Princess Diana’s car as harassment by the press has gone too far.
The media has their bowels in an uproar and the crowd loved it.
Trump loves boxing, wrestling and extreme fighting.
