If it's Biden, they will vote for Biden.
Democrats may want a woman or a minority. They won with a black man but lost with a old white woman of privilege.
However, Democratic leaders my make the pragmatic choice that the only way to beat a white man (Trump) is with another white man (Biden).
Democrats don't vote for the economy. They vote for the party. What people fail to recognize is Democrats VOTE FOR poverty all the time.
A booming economy won't convince the majority of Democrats to vote for Trump.
Some will and some others will sit it out because they don't want to vote FOR Trump but grudgingly admit to themselves the economy is doing well under Trump.
But the majority of Democrats will vote for the Democrat candidate they are given.
Just as Republicans don't care about Trumps' alleged indiscretions, neither will Democratic voters care about Bidens' groping or anything else.

Leave Joe alone. We should be supporting him in the most positive fashion for entertainment value. Do not discourage Groping Joe.

Biden also cleans up nice. If you put him in a suit with a designer tie he can at least look presidential.
I remember some of the visits he made to Afganistan when he was VP and watching him walking through the base in khakis and a kevlar vest and sunglasses. He looked, for lack of a better word, professional and flashed a good smile. Biden may be dumb as a sack of rocks but he can look the part without much trouble. That has to be worth 8 or 10 points in the polls.
