A chainsaw-wielding Tennessee father had to have his leg amputated after his son ran him over with a lawn mower, police said.
Officers were called to a home in Bristol, Tennessee, on June 28 and found Douglas Ferguson, 76, bleeding from his head and leg, according to a press release from the Sullivan County Sheriffs Office.
A preliminary investigation indicated that he tried to attack his son with a running chainsaw while his son mowed the yard. His son, who was not identified, ran over his father with the lawn mower as a way to defend himself.
Detectives said the father and son had an ongoing feud.
Ferguson was charged with attempted second-degree murder and violating probation. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer.
The Bristol Herald Courier reported that a warrant for Ferguson could not be served until Tuesday because of the severity of his injuries.

>>Im thinking it was a riding lawnmower!!<<
Still having difficulty with the image. The father was so clutzy he just let the son run him over? Except for the racing ones I think mower speed is, what? a few feet per minute?
To finish prepping, she fired up a chain saw to cut the tops off of eggs.
There was an editorial cut, just showing the neatly cut, empty egg shells to be used for serving.

Just another loving-family spat!

He won’t be walking far in prison anyway.

Cant believe hubby didnt tell me about this one, he normally scours the local papers.
You know, I found it so odd when we first moved here how doing lawns was such an intrical part of life. I think that might be spelled wrong Anyway, in Mexifornia nobody did their own yards. They are hired illegals to do them. You couldnt even find a white person to do lawns, I know because I tried.
But here, everyone does their own. Even my 78-year-old neighbor. And if you rent a property it is the renter that does the lawn. And even the trashiest trailer has a nicely manicured yard. I see very few yards that are growing out of control, and those are usually foreclosures before the bank gets to them. I kind a like the work ethic people have in that regard, getting out there and taking care of their own property.
Of course this story puts a different spin on it :-)
He apparently has the aspirated model and did a wheelstand with it and came down on Daddy’s leg.

Talk about a dysfunctional family...
Pack the car. We’s going to a family reunion in 10-a-C.
Yeah, it seems like the lawnmower guy would still be really vulnerable to the chainsaw, no matter how quick or nimble the mower is.
Maybe it was one of these beasties:
With a big-wheel mower like that, you could keep chainsaw-brandishing Dad at bay.
