I don’t see his political affiliation in that article.

Believe it or not, Obama first unsealed the private divorce records of his Democrat primary opponent Blair Hull. Hull was leading the race until David Axelrod got Hull's divorce records unsealed; Hull dropped out soon after that.
Obama later repeated that tactic with his Republican general election opponent, Jack Ryan.

Most powerful one I can remember recently was Trafficant from ohio. He’s the one with the dead squirrel on his head.
Blago the ex Governor of Illinois was bad for obama because he tried to sell obama’s Senate seat.
Still in prison too I think.

This is exactly what Obama did to his GOP opponent, Jack Ryan, in the 2004 U.S. Senate race in Illinois.
The information in Ryan's sealed divorce record was so inflammatory, Ryan withdrew, and Alan Keyes stepped in to take Ryan's place.
My prediction....
Ellison's divorce records will be released - the day after the election.
Why?
Because the Democrats know that the GOP leadership NEVER fights back.

The most powerful Democrat I can think of was Dan Rostenkowski, representing Chicago and was the chairman of the House Ways And Means Committee.
He was indicted for his role in the House Post Office scandal, and was taken out by the up and coming Eric Holder in 1994. Rosty served 15 months in federal prison in Wisconsin.

Oh yeah. Wasn’t there also one who had the Louisiana National Guard help him remove $500k that was in a freezer back during Katrina?

That was William Jefferson. He wasn't powerful, but Denny Hastert still defended him against the FBI raid. That was the beginning of the end for Hastert.

Read the law, which mandates that this is a viable request to open the records.
Bad law? Maybe - perhaps even definitely so. But, it is the law.

Hello! I’m divorced and anyone who wanted to could have sat in the court and heard everything that was said. I’m boring so no-one did. I always thought that court proceedings were public. Am I wrong?

*** “Hello! Im divorced and anyone who wanted to could have sat in the court and heard everything that was said. Im boring so no-one did. I always thought that court proceedings were public. Am I wrong?” ***
During my divorce the EX was doing her best to take Everything from me and then said “I don’t want people to know about this”
It was funny as hell when about 50 of us mouthed silently “It is Public Record”
