A Republican allegation that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jared Polis invested in a company benefited by his work as a congressman is now a formal complaint.
Former Secretary of State Gessler, a GOP candidate for governor in 2014, filed the complaint Tuesday with the Secretary of States Office on behalf of Kristina Cook, a Denver County Republican Party official and conservative radio personality.
She and Gessler allege that Polis failed to disclose in his official paperwork that he had invested between $5 million and $25 million in BridgeHealth Medical Inc.
This failure to report his interest in BridgeHealth is not a mere oversight, the complaint states. Polis has been extensively involved in BridgeHealth. By his admission, he co-founded the company, and he loaned the company money nearly every three months for at least five years.
BridgeHealth hoped to benefit from Americans going abroad for health care to avoid higher insurance premiums. The complaint alleges that trade benefitted from passage of the Affordable Care Act. Polis helped pass the ACA as a Democratic member of Congress.
Polis failure to report his interest in BridgeHealth is particularly notable, because the health care policies advocated by Polis as a candidate may very well benefit BridgeHealth, and thus increase Polis personal fortune.
The Secretary of States Office has 10 days to review the complaint and, if anythings wrong, offer Polis five days to correct his filing, if necessary. Failing that, an administrative law judge would have 15 days to hold a hearing on the merits of the complaint, which could drive the issue close to the Nov. 6 election.

Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
This complaint is a real stretch.
In New Jersey the Republican senate candidate is being attacked because he was employed (CEO, I think) at a drug company which developed cancer medications that some people can not afford. So creating jobs in the medical sector and helping some folks beat cancer is now an eeevil thing. And the accusations are from the Menendez camp- indicted for corruption, visitor to Lolita Island, career politician.
LOL! Nice try Jared.
Yes, this guy has NO FR PROFILE! Not even the state where he supposedly resides!
Have been on FR since April, 1998 under a few different screen names; back when there was great intellectual discourse and had quite a few very well-know and famous conservatives.
I was at the MFJ, if you even knows what that means.
There are plenty of reasons to oppose this guy. I would suggest conservatives focus on more substantive issues.
The guy has loaned the business money; $5 - 25 million. There is a ton of competition in the medical tourism business. In fact, the business model for this company has some serious flaws.
All anyone has to do to find quality medical treatment outside the U.S. is to ask around for references from friends, and friends of friends. No need to pay a middleman for something you can do yourself. There are also trusted re Jews on the internet.
My guess is that this guy is going to lose every dollar he has invested, and that the only people that will make money are the guys who conned him out of his money. $5-25 million invested in a referral business that has little need for capital outside of a small office, office equipment and supplies, an internet connection, and a basic phone and fax system? You could start a business like this in a spare bedroom or basement.
The fact that he has been investing considerable money over a number of years and no returns is a huge red flag. Hes likely a victim of fraud.

Could not agree with you more! Polis is the Gavin Newsom of Colorado.
Polis’ failure to report his interest in BridgeHealth Medical Inc. is not an oversight. BridgeHealth profits when Americans go overseas to avoid high premiums, and Polis’ support of the “Affordable” Care Act ensured that more Americans would travel for care. Polis has profited off his bad policies and attempted to hide the fact from the public.
They weren’t Polis’ policies. He voted for Obamacare because he is a Democrat. Medical tourism has been going on for many decades. There is so much potential for growth in that business before Obamacare; the surface has barely been scratched.
