The back seat of every Minneapolis police squad car will soon display a message in English and Spanish: You have the right to remain silent about your place of birth, immigration status and everything else.

Mayor Jacob Frey has promised to keep Minneapolis safe for immigrants as federal authorities ramp up enforcement of immigration laws. After mentioning the placards in his State of the City speech in May, Frey held a news conference Wednesday to reveal them to the public.

“Right now, cities have to step up and do what our federal administration and Congress won’t,” said Frey. “We will not let this lack of compassion at the highest levels of our government prevent us from doing what is right for our immigrant communities here in Minneapolis.”

Next thing you know, the cops will be forced to bring enough coffee and doughnuts for all the illegals they catch in the commission of a crime.

Actually, no decent person wants anything bad to happen to immigrants in immigrant communities.

On the other hand, we do have a problem with criminals. These illegal aliens violate our laws in a whole bunch of ways. These people are not immigrants. They’re crooks. Those people deserve only scorn. They should all be kicked out of the country and not molly-coddled.

Muslims populate much of Minneapolis now. Flying into the airport, all the employees you see are Muslims, the taxi and bus drivers are all Muslims and I suspect most of the city.
