[Her win in 2016 was also a plurality, because her opponent, Joe Miller, chose to run as a Libertarian and not a Tea Party kind of Republican.]

Any idea why Joe chose not to run for the GOP nomination?

Our Founding Fathers created Senators as State Representatives, not elected at large by the people. I would like to see this Amendment repealed and Senators again chosen by State Legislatures.

Get real tough. Reprimand and send a stern letter!

You're not getting it.

Murkowski didn't vote yes or no, she was preserving the 2-vote margin of victory for Kavanaugh that would have occurred if Daines voted Yes.

Because Daines was absent, if Murkowski voted No she would be giving Schumer a 1-vote margin to try to flip, perhaps getting Manchin to flip back to No and defeat the nomination. This would force Daines to leave his daughter's wedding to rush back to DC to vote.

That's why Murkowski switched her No to Present, as a favor to Daines so he could stay in Montana and enjoy his daughter's wedding.

She was elected by non-thinking incumbent voters, and democrats. Nice gesture maybe, but no effect other than the GOP looking spiteful.

she only changed her vote to ‘present’ as a favor to that GOP Senator with a daughter that was getting married.

Then, her vote of record is "present."

Look bad to whom? And why should we care?

This is BULL!

Babcock took her $$ last year AFTER the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood selling dead baby body parts. Murkowski takes $ from PP and routinely holds "fundraisers" in California.

The Alaska GOP is as corrupt as it gets. Worse than Chicago.

Think about it...Alaska has two full share US Senate seats 65 Billion dollars in the bank and a poulation of only 700,000. Outside meddling target #1 in the nation. Power, money and numeric weakness (little risk/expense).

AKGOP won't fix Murkowski...they are responsible for her!

Sorry, no she didn't. She ran and won in 2016 as a Republican due to a filthy trick pulled by former Anchorage Mayor (not senator) Dan Sullivan (same name, different guy) during the Primary. In 2010 she lost the Republican Primary to Joe Miller, then ran a write in campaign. The AKGOP pulled every filthy trick in the book to help Murky and undermine Miller. Murky won by just a couple points.

Of course she first inherited her Senate seat from her daddy.

Team Babcock back then did things like print and stamp mailers for Miller then throw them into the Dumpster. Someone alerted Miller who tried to retrieve them out of the dumpster...Babcock called the cops on Miller claiming a robbery...yes really.

Former Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan had a gentleman's agreement with Joe Miller to not enter the republican primary so as not to split the conservative vote. Joe agreed. Hours after the deadline to enter, Sullivan dropped out claiming family issues, leaving Murky with no viable challenger. Sullivan was polling 20 points higher than Murky at the time.

My friend, Cean Stevens was Libertarian candidate for Senator. She dropped out in order to allow Miller to run against Murky as an L, which was unsuccessful.

Wile I agree with you that the move would be ill-timed, I doubt that a Swamp Creature like Murkowski has any common ground, and when she can no longer inflict any damage to the GOP, she should be jettisoned.

Yes, she needs to go, but reprimanding her for not voting the party line will just look bad, imo.
