McCONNELLS MILL, Pa. Darcelle Slappy says Democrats and Republicans who live in places like this part of Western Pennsylvania are a lot closer than how theyre portrayed on TV.
Unlike Washington, we are all just a few notches from each other in either direction. We have much more that draws us together than divides us, Slappy says.
In fact, she says the divide in this country isnt Republican versus Democrat. The real division is between the elites and us.
In a New York Times column last weekentitled The American Civil War, Part II, Thomas L. Friedman stated that he began his career covering a civil war in Lebanon and that hed never thought hed end it covering a civil war in America.
Across the land, before dinner parties or block parties, the refrain I hope none of them will be there is uttered with increasing frequency, referring no longer to people of another race or religion bad enough but to people from a different political party, he wrote.
But Slappy, who is attending the annual Heritage Festival at the state park, doesnt see her community that way. The Democrat, along with her husband, Tony, their 14-year-old son, Damani, and their infant granddaughter, Ivy, is wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with words: Darcelle Slappy, Green Party Candidate, PA State Representative, District 10.

Except for Indian Reservations and small, college towns that overwhelm their county population wise.
Slappy White for POTUS
Urban and border vs. the rest of us.
Conservatives and Christians are called “divisive” if they don’t submit to Leftists and anti-Christians.
Communist vs American. Has been for over half a century.
The results are what they are, but their cause I believe is of a mastermind be it elites, or as I’ve posted in the past anonymous international wealth at war with this nation that stands between them, and ownership of the World, which I concede is elitist, but again I specify international.
The communist university professors are the ones dividing America
the “elites” have been very busy selling off bits and pieces of us all to the highest bidder...for the last 40 years
Yeah I think it’s really urban vs rural nowadays. It’s definitely not North vs South anymore, I’ve been to parts of upstate New York that are far more backwards than somewhere like Birmingham, AL which is a lot more progressive than you would expect.
I think if it really was Elites vs Regulars you would have a lot more people switching parties from both sides, fiscally speaking. Rich Hollywood types would vote Republican and poor white working class people would be Democrats. Social issues seem to outweigh fiscal ones though, even though most people would say they don’t care about that as much

I was introduced to Ms. Zito after hearing her on the John Batchelor radio program.
I’m now a huge fan and follow her on Twitter. I think she is just terrific.
- and her late book was excellent! The interviews being my favorite part.
I listened to the most recent podcast on CW2 via JB, and he is not a drama queen IMHO but you get the impression he is very concerned aka you are in this mess and you don't even know it, and how we are repeating late 1850 history...
FWIW, she was one of the first to point out that Trump actually had a shot at winning PA. The chattering classes all laughed at her. They aren't laughing now.
They’re divisive; we’er not.
Divided? That’s a byproduct of the leftist agenda. Earlier today while riding my Harley I came across another bike and we rode together for a few miles in easy harmony. Me, the white guy with three college degrees, him a black guy open carrying and wearing outlaw leathers and patches.
Dead on.
And that map would be mostly True Blue, if the Commie-dia had not deliberately swapped the colors circa 2000, and then quickly canonized the switch.
Red for a pack of Marxist Red Enclaves was just too revealing.
What’s with all the blue along the western side of Mississippi?
