I have become a unicorn. My metamorphosis didnt require a magic spell or potion, or even a trip to a well-reviewed plastic surgeon to add a horn to my head. All it took was Democrats treatment of Brett Kavanaugh over the last few weeks to turn me into that elusive creature: a minority, immigrant woman who supports Republicans.
I moved to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago eight years ago when I married my husband, Christopher, former U.S. Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalias eighth (and, in my opinion, most lovable) child. Some people might read that and think, Well, thats no surprise then; Justice Scalias daughter-in-law is hardly likely to be anything but Republican!
But they would be wrong. Ive always considered myself politically moderate: I am unapologetically pro-life, but my views on affirmative action, Black Lives Matter, and gun control made me sympathize strongly with Democratic perspectives and occasionally led to arguments with my husband and father-in-law.
That sense of political homelessness was a big reason that I was never in a hurry to become an American citizen. I figured Id do it eventually, but not having a strong connection to either party, feeling unsure of where I fit into Americas strange political landscape, meant it was low on my list of priorities.

Blessings to you!
But there are Leftist who have left the insanity. It does happen as well.
*********************************************
Yep. It happens.
And, for the most part, that leaving is like that young lady who wrote a letter to the editor at the newspaper of the town she’d not too long ago migrated to.
In that letter, she talks about why she had to leave the place of her origin. It had gotten too expensive and the taxes were too high for her to financially survive.
Then she talks about what a wonderful citizen of the new town she’s been.
She votes to support the homeless.
She votes to support more shelters.
She votes to support higher minimum wages.
She votes to support each and every costly thing the left can dream up.
And now she has to move again. And it’s all the city’s fault for making taxes so high. And it’s not fair.

One step at a time.......cautiously optimistic....
It isn’t always the case, and I have personal friends who were once leftists and have repudiated it root and branch.
The young woman you described is not one of them...she is still a leftist, and is what I call a “locust”...they eat all the crops where they live without giving anything back, then fly to another place where there are crops to eat. They are leftist scum.
Group-think? You've got it down pat.
JUST WALK AWAY!!!
Uh huh.
This is a better kind of “woke”.
It never fails, anytime the news does one of those stories about a family member being deported they always get to the part where the whole family voted for Trump and plans to again. It’s interesting
Back around the last election, I had a male nurse from Nigeria? I think doing my home health care for a few weeks after surgery. Anyway, HE was the one lecturing ME about how great Trump was and all the talking points from the time etc., the whole situation felt backwards and funny
I think sometimes it has to do with religious views, or also the “idea” of America that immigrants come here with I don’t know
Today, at a Walmart in the middle of TX were two elderly white women demanding K be impeached.
A thoughtful and clear conclusion reached by Adele Scalia- well written.
I welcome her quest for citizenship. I hope she becomes a persuasive voice for the qualities she found wanting on the left.
maybe walmart has a special on impeachment

For those of us who have hopes that the vast number of immigrants think as this poster does, because it appears to be pro America ...read it AGAIN.
I wonder what her views are on possible foul play for her Father in law’s death?
Legals hate illegals
A homosexual woman self-identified on Instagram and said she was supporting Trump all the way. I thanked her and gave her best wishes. She returned the thought.
She mentioned that we are all winning under Trump, and I agreed that we have much in common to support Trump for.
Some guy came on to call her stupid for backing Trump, and she nailed him.
LOL
Lots of elderly white (and non-white) women are lonely. They leave their TVs on all day and night and watch network shows like Morning Joe and The View or whatever news is on CNN or MSNBC. They aren’t ignorant, they just never hear the other side of the story.
I can think of two old biddies within a few miles of me screaming at the walls.
I believe, since they are LIEberals, that the entire Ford "team" is lying about her "never intending to go public."
I contend that Ms. Ford and her team INTENDED to get her name out to the public!
Furthermore, I contend that by doing so, yet denying they fully intended to "go public," they expected even more sympathy for their "cause."
I sure am glad that their LIEs will be made public Real Soon Now, and I hope the "Ford team" (including those hateful Demonrat Senators!) is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
