So... bring him out and do it at the rally.
RUB IT IN THEIR FACES.
I hate that McConnell is doing everything he can to sound conciliatory to the RATS. WHY? Destroy the bastards for them pulling this crap! THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS AND NEVER WILL BE -— what more do they have to do to prove that to you, there, Mitch?! Sheesh.

I think you read too much into what McConnell says. He knows firsthand, he has absolutely NO FRIENDS on the other side. Being “conciliatory” at this juncture just takes some of the air out of the RATs sails, and makes it more difficult for them to capitalize on the gaping chasm that separates the two parties today. You’ve got to know when the call each other “this distinguished Senator or that distinguished Senator,” they are really calling each other SOB’s.
I think Mitch is being a gentleman. He will never be a Schumer thank God.
Hey! Mitch got the job done, show some respect.
It wouldn’t be appropriate to do it at a political rally. Traditionally, he’s sworn in by the Chief Justice.
I agree. But since most Americans follow the Rodney King school of thought (can’t we all just get along?) it’s necessary to present yourself as “reasonable”. People need to understand that politics is an ongoing arguement over how to slice the pie (or grow the pie as we believe) and that Democrats want to steal shares of the pie and that Republicans are no longer willing to let them thanks to Trump’s willingness to stand up for us.
