CNN political director on Kavanaugh: 'The ballgame's over'

CNN's political director suggested Thursday that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is likely to be confirmed after Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voiced approval of how the FBI conducted its supplementary investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against the judge.

"I think the ballgame’s over here," CNN political director David Chalian said on the network after Collins said the FBI's review appeared to be "very thorough."

"I think that’s why … Susan Collins's statement is a hugely significant moment, because the entire argument from the Democratic side about the investigation was that it wasn’t thorough, that it wasn’t complete," Chalian added.

Sorry that should read the GOP was ALWAYS going to gain seats in the Senate.. so there was no win here for them...

New Senate is seated and Trump puts up Kavanaugh again, or someone equally constructionalist...

The fact the Dems thought there was any end game where they would win out of this... shows you how out of touch with reality their world view is.

At this point, if I was the President, I would openly state, if the senate votes down Kavanaugh, I will simply resubmit him after the new Senate is seated.

I have no problem making this Fall an open referendum on the direction of the supreme court...

Nah. Won't happen. That train has left the station. After every defeat by a leftist, there's chatter about the moderate Dims taking back control of the party.

Bill Clinton was a shrewd enough politician to realize he had to pass himself off as a centrist. But after Gore lost, what did the Dims do? Nominate Kerry. And after Kerry lost? Obama, the Socialist. And in '16, another statist in Shrillary. They keep doubling down on stupidity.

Baseless allegations of gang rape against a family man = Ball Game

This is sick stuff

I sat through about 10 minutes of The View (so you won’t have to), and the audience was very subdued when they were discussing this. Hardly any clapping, when you would normally expect thunderous applause and catcalls.

If the Left has lost the howler monkeys who populate the audience of The View, they are in deep, deep trouble.

I know what you mean I dated an east Tennessee farm girl from a very rural county when I was right out of college, whose family was this way. They wanted low taxes, no gun control, no gay anything, supported the military but voted straight ticket Democrat. The girl and her mother tried their best to not let the rest of the family know I was a gasp, a Republican!

They begged me not to engage other family members when they started talking politics. If it started up she would take me by the hand to the front porch to sit and swing until she thought the danger had passed of me engaging the rest of her family in the political discussion. I can’t complain, she was a real beauty and that front porch swing was in a secluded area of the family home.

I finally asked the girl one day, your entire family supports issues that are conservative and the Republicans support and I clicked issue after issue off and she said yeah we support those. Then why do you vote for people who don’t support any of them? Because we have always voted Democrat. She was a beauty but not too smart politically. Needless to say we went our separate ways.

This is hardly over, the left is going to do everything they can before the confirmation vote.

They will continue after the vote. I hope Kavanaugh and his family have very tight security around them.

They will go after Trump's first female nominee, tooth and claw.

Yup. She'll get the Sarah Palin treatment.
