Kavanaugh Hearing Was The Democrats' Worst Nightmare
townhall.com ^ | Sep 28, 2018 | Mark Davis

In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, I’ve spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.

The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.

The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Ford’s story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.

No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.

As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.

..snip..

But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

She is 85,

At 85 she isn't running her show. She certainly approves of it. The old biddy seems lucid, but is she?

>> If I lived in SC, I would vote for this man. <<

Hmmm. Imagine what would happen if the "Linda Grahamnesty MUST GO" crowd from 2014 got their way, and Brad Hutto (D-SC) was the one sitting in judgment of Kavanaugh now.

Yeah, since McStain is gone, Graham is definitely “born again hard”.

Unfortunately, Flake is still living up to his name. I never understood how that guy got a "95% conservative" rating from the ACU when he in the House, the rating system was obviously flawed.

I did see one great example of a silver lining yesterday though. I was never a fan of the Kavanaugh appointment (though I supported him because he sounded like he'd be an improvement over Anthony Kennedy) because I'm not convinced he will overturn leftist "precedents" like gay marriage and abortion-on-demand. But another FReeper pointed out that the DemonRats may end up with exact OPPOSITE goal of what they wanted, and just sabotaged their chances of Kavanaugh EVER voting in their favor on the court. If he gets on SCOTUS, he'll certainly never forget how they tried to destroy his career.

Caved again

This is what I’m talking about

Feckless over and over

GOPe never react like their voters

Average gop voter

Ford is a kook and and being managed by leftist operatives

But the GOPe treats her as doctor ford and oh so credible and earnest

They are scared

The DC bubble is their reality

Transcending that bubble is something Trump and Bannon and Miller mastered

The GOPe itself has no such mastery or inclination

Grassely managed this as well as could be expected. The morning was so boring that everyone was very apprehensive about the afternoon.

In that context we had the Judge and Senator Graham came roaring out of the box with overwhelming power and effectiveness.

Great contrast between a mousey liar answering questions which were directed at the kind of minutia that is at the heart of a trial.

There is no evidence supporting that claim.

So three Senators’ votes are sufficient to abandon the party? I don’t think so. Get to the point where those votes don’t matter.

The Demons would have to knock off their most promising candidate before it is a Kirov moment. Say Hitlery knocking off Booker.

They could not have attacked her for being a f.....g liar since it would have looked like an attack on a weak woman.

So the strategy was to kill her with kindness i.e. referring to her as a victim and blaming it on the Demons, pretty sweet.

Then let Lindsey let the hammer down and Kavanaugh take it from there. No one even remembers what she said.

Ever hear of Killing with Kindness?

A weapon was removed from Demons arsenal. There will be no shots of a mean Republican harassing a poor little lady. They clearly were bending over backwards and letting her lie.

They would have treated a man much differently, much more of a confrontation.

You must have heard him say he voted in Kagan and Sotomayor? And that doesn’t even bother you?
