Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Monday defended himself against the sexual assault allegations roiling his nomination by saying he was a virgin through high school and college.
"We’re talking about an allegation of sexual assault," Kavanaugh said in a clip released from his interview on Fox News Channel's "The Story with Martha MacCallum."
"I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone," Kavanaugh said. "I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years thereafter ... The girls from the schools I went to, and I, were friends."
"Through all these years that were in question, you were a virgin?" Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked.
"That’s correct," Kavanaugh replied, adding that he did not have sex until "many years after" college.
Neither of the two accusations regarding Kavanaugh involve sexual intercourse. Christine Blasey Ford is alleging Kavanaugh held her down and groped her over her clothes during a high school party in 1982, and Deborah Ramirez claims he exposed himself without her consent during a gathering at Yale University a few years later.
Fox News released clips from the interview throughout the evening on Monday.
At another point in the interview, Kavanaugh vowed he is "not going anywhere" despite the allegations.
"I’m not going to let false accusations drive us out of this process," he said, sitting beside his wife as she nodded.
Kavanaugh during the interview denied attending the party in Ford's account.
"[I am] not questioning and have not questioned that perhaps Dr. Ford at some point in her life was sexually assaulted by someone at some place but what I know is I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone," he said.
Ford has stated that she is sure Kavanaugh was the man who allegedly assaulted her in an episode that she says has caused her decades of emotional trauma.
The full interview is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. EST.

What bothers me about the men who snicker at this is that a boy having sex is (generally) having it with a girl; and a lot of these same men find girls having sex a bad idea - especially if it’s their daughters.
And I don’t think most men would want to know that their wives had slept around as much as they boast that they did themselves in their youths.
This is only embarrassing to the Judge in the minds of people who think all young people sleep around; or that there is something ‘manly’ about it.

My son-in-law and daughter committed to each other to stay pure until they were married. They were high-school sweethearts. He is very handsome, and she is quite beautiful. He took it upon himself to protect her purity rather than take it. They have been married ten years. Both of them are so glad that they honored God.
Honestly, in this day and age, I feel very blessed that my daughter did not give me any cause for concern in this department. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren and a son-in-law whom I love as much as my daughter.

Yes. I can’t claim a moral high ground either...I would have if I could have, but I think it came down to two basic things for me:
1.) The BCD military issue glasses I had to wear well into High School (Birth Control Device)
2.) My mother and father raised me to be a gentleman, call men sir, and women, ma’am. And part of that was to treat women with respect. So I wouldn’t force myself on anyone. If I made a move and they were not into it...well, that was it. And so it went. I wouldn’t trade it, because with my luck, I would have gotten some gal pregnant, and I would have been the marrying type even in High School.

Back in those days it was not unusual for many of us to be virgins, the fear of getting pregnant was HUGE!!! It was NOTHING like today!!! I dated the same person for 4 years through high school and we NEVER had sex my parents would have killed me!!! I graduated in 74 but it couldn’t have been that different 8 years later!!!!

It was quite a scandal because one public health measure was to close down the public "bath" houses which the politicians did not want to do. I forget how it finally happened. Of course DiFi was in the middle of this muddle as the Mayor, in the wake of the Harvy Milk assassination.
Maybe it has something to do with having been stationed in Bangkok for a few years before getting married..
