Flake might even go along with that, saying that he'd have preferred that Judge Kavanaugh wait for the "appropriate time and place" to speak out, and for that reason he questions Kavanaugh's judgment and will vote no.

Judge Kavanaugh has been a Judge for many years. Believe me, they learn a lot about the criminal mind during that time. He knows what he is doing. When you are being pseudo assassinated, you need a forum which will allow you to speak.

My guess is he’s doing this because he doesn’t expect Ford to show up Thursday (so no need for him to testify Thursday). Thus this would be his chance to speak tonight.
The right of Ghengis Khan sounds superficially good but IDK how he would be on State’s Right’s. I’d settle for another in the mold of Scalia or Thomas.
