Christine Blasey Ford, accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, agrees to Senate testimony about sexual assault claim

  • Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor at the center of a sexual assault accusation against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has agreed to testify to representatives of the Senate Judiciary Committee sometime next week.
  • The details have yet to be worked out, but it could mean the end of a lengthy and emotional political fight that has stalled Kavanaugh's nomination.

Below is the full text of the letter Ford's legal team sent to Senate staffers: [From the bottom of the link]

Dr. Ford accepts the Committee's request to provide her first-hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week. Although many aspects of the proposal you provided via email, on September 21, 2018, at 2:33 pm, are fundamentally inconsistent with the Committee's promise of a fair, impartial investigation into her allegations, and we are disappointed with the leaks and the bullying that have tainted the process, we are hopeful that we can reach agreement on details. Can we set up a time for later this afternoon to continue our negotiations?

    Sincerely,

    Debra S. Katz

I’ll check back in a couple of hours to see what is really happening.

Blame the Republican senate.

What's really bizarre is that they don't mind being played for fools. They still consider Feinstein their "good friend and colleague," I have no doubt. She and the Dems on the committee played dirty and crapped all over Grassley and the Republicans (not to mention poor Kavanaugh), and all Grassley can say is, "Please, sir, can I have some more?" At a minimum you would think they'd fight back out of a sense of self-respect.

It will never happen. The Democrats won't let it run that long.

Watch for some hints in the next few days that one of the key red-state Democrats up for re-election this year is starting to get sick of this process.

If she testifies, here’s what I think she’s thinking: this is a replay of Anita Hill against Clarence Thomas. Hill didn’t stop the confirmation of Thomas, but she did come out of the hearings very nicely. Her career blossomed. She is now a professor at a prestigious university and a feminist icon who can sell books and command major fees for her speeches. It was all upside for Anita Hill. And if Ford does testify she will likely reap the same rewards. Or at least she expects to. And why not? The Dems and the left will certainly reward her for destroying a man’s reputation, and attempting to keep him off the SC. As with Anita Hill, there is no downside. It’s all upside.

She’ll testify on term to be worked out. Translation - she’ll dictate the terms on a take it or leave it basis, and the Republicans will fold. There is a bright side - her story is weak for all to see, and Kav will be able to testify for all to see.

Assuming she allows Kav to be able to rebut. So far, she demands that she go last.

I have to ask. Are there any women on the GOP side in all of this? Any women at all who will put their foot down on this woman’s shenanigans?!

That's not what I read. I read "she will testify... provided her lengthy list of demands is met."

In other words, nothing's changed.

Right. Until we hear from Grassley then we don’t really know if the committee is going along with this or not. If they do then I have no respect for any of them.

Does no one in the entire Republican party have any pull with Flake, Collins, or Murkowski?

It’s their waffling on the vote that is the underlying cause of this catastrophic circus.

Ah, White House says this is just a delaying game and that she hasn’t agreed to anything, just running out the clock.

Dr. Ford says that she will gladly testify for you on Tuesday for a Kavanaugh withdrawal today...

I will gladly pay you on Wednesday for a hamburger on Tuesday.

This will be a 3 ring circus and I hope this fraud will be made to look like a complete fool. Bring on the popcorn and beer, it’s going to be fun.

“Don’t blame the Democrats for fighting. They clearly understand what is at stake here. Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court will be catastrophic for liberalism.

Blame the Republican senate. Never has a more cowardly legislative body existed in DC. ”

I don’t blame the Democrats for fighting, but I blame them for the manner in which they are fighting. As for the Republicans, they might not be responsible for their behavior. Cowardice might be so much a part of their nature that they cannot be expected to act on moral principles. Poor souls.

She always claimed to testify under her conditions. I thought Grassley said the deadline was to accept the conditions. So, nothing has changed except Grassley being bitch-slapped again.

1st Question

WHY DID YOU SCRUB YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

2nd Question

GIVE US THE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL UNREDACTED LETTER (AND ANY OTHER CORRESPONDENCE) YOU SENT TO SENATOR FEINSTEIN - AKA THE ACTUAL ACCUSATION.

I'm one of the people here who nearly got tossed from this website back in the mid-2000s for saying I thought Bush was a retarded baboon.

Just an FYI for you ... LOL.
