The number of reported sexual assaults at colleges and universities around the country is rising amid new tools for students to report sexual abuse, according to statistics reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
In the data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the Journal reports that trends of reported sexual assaults are rising while the number of lawsuits universities face over mishandling such claims is also rising.
University officials now say that conflicting guidance from courts, the Obama administration, and the Trump administration on battling sexual assault on campus have left schools confused over how to handle such claims. The result has been a decision by some schools to outsource hearings to retired judges, rather than allowing professors to handle them.
The wind is blowing from 12 different directions and the ground is moving beneath our feet, said Valery Richardson, an interim Title IX official at the University of Washington.
Obviously these [judges] are people well versed in content and due process, added Rachel Pereira, an official at Vassar College. Faculty said they didnt feel comfortable in that role, this wasnt in their wheelhouse.
Richardson added in her statement to the Journal that Title IX inquiries were up 54 percent at her school over the past two years. Full data for the entire country following 2015 was not immediately available, but statistics showed a trend of reported sexual assaults increasing in rate every year up to 2015.
David Karp, a sociology professor at Skidmore College, told the Journal that the actual number of sexual assaults could be higher, as many victims of sexual abuse find the Title IX process daunting and not worth the effort.
The vast, vast, vast majority of students who have been sexually assaulted do not report it to anyone on campus, because they are not interested in that level of formal engagement or punishment, Karp told the Journal.
We have built a pretty massive Title IX adjudication system since 2011, and students simply are not availing themselves of it.
Last month it was reported that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was working to release new rules regarding how universities handle sexual assault cases that would increase protections for accused students and decrease liability for educational institutions.
The agency refused to comment at the time, calling reports on the department's plans "premature."
Because of the lies from feminists of a 'rape culture on college campuses', the Obama administration made it simple and easy to railroad innocent young college men without due process.
Now those innocent young men have caught on and are fighting back.
There is no 'rape culture' on college campuses. There is a 'accusation of rape' culture on college campuses.
The Trump administration has been working to stop this abuse and feminists have been frantically pushing back.
I suppose that in 30 years sales of cats will be booming as their lonely spinster owners bemoan the fact that men all decided to get sex robots rather than risking ever being in a room alone with one of them.
Because they now define “Hello” as sexual assault, if spoken by a privileged White male member of the oppressor patriarchy.
And because the male is judged guilty at the moment of accusation, and has no recourse.

Hoist!
Why would be the schools job in the first place?? Call the Police and Swear under Oath to the veracity of your claims so we can put you in JAIL for Making a FALSE Police report.
By the way, I believe we need a Federal Law making the Deliberate False reporting of a Sex related crime to be punishable by 20 years in Federal Prison.
Women between the ages of 45 and 60 are one of the highest demographics for suicide now.
Where the new “sexual assault” can be merely telling a woman she looks nice or asking her out on a date.
Everything is operating just as God planned .....
except young men and women were supposed to have a religious and moral foundation BEFORE being tempted.
"It's not good that man should be alone .... " ... that's one of Papa's quotes and that if he can't contain himself, he should marry.
So the college age kids are thrown together with no moral tools to deal with the pressure and ..... well ..... God's creation kicks in just as it was designed.
It's a lot easier to train and build up a moral man or woman than to fix the screw up (pun intended) they become without Godly moralty.
I'm pretty sure every prisoner has said at least once during his imprisonment ...
"I wish I hadn't ............... "
You lower the definition of sexual assault and thats what you get.
Before I ever went on my first date my father taught me how to protect myself from unwanted advances. Women used to be strong, not weak floppy little things like today. Every guy knew if they got out of hand they would deal with furious fathers and/or brothers and then deal with their own furious parents when they got home.
the thing is you have to worry about your well raised son being accused of a non-assault
Simple policy:
1. Report all allegations of any type of assault to the local police.
2. See #1.
I read an article earlier this year stating porn is rampant in the colleges and universities. If true that would contribute to a sexual abuse culture.
COLLEGE
Sis-boom-rah!
Colleges were told to handle it through their college kangaroo court system.
EVERY alleged sexual assault should be reported to the POLICE so the POLICE can investigate, not college administrators.
I figured it was the uppity petulant marxist muslim that started this ball rolling.
Salem, anyone ?
Liberal college womyn are at the point where any contact between a male and female that was not instigated by the female is considered sexual assault that will scar one for life and make one afraid of airplanes. Liberal college males are at the point they will largely comply.
More lies. Whoever coined the phrase ‘sex as a weapon’ can’t have imagined it being so powerful,
This was a scheme dreamed up by feminists and rammed through by the Obama administration.
The stories of college administrators' abuses are right out of Kafkas' 'The Trial'.
