It has little to do with ability and more to do with up-bringing. Kids are essentially warehoused in schools until they are 17 or 18. They have next to no responsibilities and are barely permitted to have any. (Consider working papers.)
My father's first cousin left his Berlin home for Palestine when he was 13 years old. This was before Hitler's rise; and his parents were none too happy about it. What kid today could do something like that?

I think we over-estimate the abilities of grown men to control themselves or make sensible decisions; Bill Clinton and most Democrat legislators. They are all immature, yet people find it acceptable. There's a pattern with Bill Clinton throughout his life; not so with Kavanaugh even if accused of something at 17 years old (which I doubt happened). Hypocrite Dems.
Perhaps Booker is outing himself, for fear of potential revelations about his teenage past, should he make headway towards the Dem nomination in 2020?
‘Can only be one explanation.....he did something worse at 17’.
This was also my first thought!
If Ruth BG retires perhaps Ann Coulter should be the next nominee for SCOTUS
Agree totally. I remember reading about John Quincey Adams. What an incredible childhood he had, mature far beyond his years. Instead of sitting around playing video games, or fumbling with the latest-greatest, must-have gadgets, and stuffing face with unhealthy junk food, he was purposefully learning, carrying out daily chores, actual work, traveling the seas, if you will. We so pamper and indulge children today. Far too many are immature and incapable of ever developing necessary life skills to take on, to achieve adulthood responsibilities and accomplishments, to discern truth and appy common sense.
Its why we need to bring in mandatory enlist in armed services - 2 year min
Setting the stage for his Presidential run I see,his past must be one for the books I bet
The ford woman is a liar. Her “repressed memory” is unadulterated BS.
