Trump: FBI should not be involved further on Kavanaugh
CNBC Breaking ^ | 18 SEP 18 | Christina Wilkie | @christinawilkie

President Donald Trump on Tuesday responded to the news that the Senate has scheduled a hearing on Monday to consider allegations that his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, sexually assaulted a woman when he was in high school.

Trump said that the FBI should not be involved further investigating the Kavanaugh allegations.

Kavanaugh's nomination has been in turmoil since the explosive allegations by Christine Blasey Ford, who said that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party when they were both teenagers.

Ford's allegation became public on September 16, just days before the Senate Judiciary Committee was scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh's confirmation, which had seemed all but assured.

This is a developing story, please check back for updates.

First three questions from first Democrat to address Ford:

1. What do you know about Russian collusion?

2. When did you first become aware of it?

3. Is it true that Kavanaugh was intimately involved?

“What’s to investigate? She can’t name people, she can’t name a place. She can’t even name a time.”

Now that she’s all Lawyered up there are teams out there that have identified everybody at the party, and times, dates, and locations. By next Monday they will have witnesses that saw him rape her and several others.

No, we need Kavanaugh to have the opportunity to publicly deny the accusations and provide his witnesses.

If she doesn’t show up, that speaks for itself.

Have the hearing with or without her. Kav is 2x smarter than every Dem (and Rep) on the panel. He can handle the questions.

The accuser here didn’t do he said/she said. Ford actually mentioned the name of a witness who now can appear to refute her charges.

The FBI can’t investigate a 36 year old event involving inebriated minors where the statute of limitation is long gone.

This is at best a civil matter.

If Ford testifies under oath, she can be sued for defamation. There will be no offers of immunity for possible perjury or making a false report.

Ms. Ford had best be very careful.

The Bushes would have pulled the nomination by now.

Here’s hoping Trump hangs tough and sees this thing through.

If she doesn’t show up there’s no reason for a hearing. Schedule the vote and be done with it.

Yup. Pick a time -- either hear the "victim" give testimony (if she shows up) or else vote on the nomination. The time is the time. The only question is which of these two activities will take place.

Kavanaugh Accuser’s Attorney Has Ties to George Soros.

Debra Katz isn’t just an ordinary lawyer you might find in The Yellow Pages. This D.C.-based attorney is a partner at the firm Katz, Marshall, & Banks, and the Vice Chair of the Project on Government Oversight, which is funded by George Soros and his expansive Open Society Foundation financial support.

Katz is tied to a letter the Project on Government Oversight sent to the Senate last month to demand more records on Judge Kavanaugh. Three weeks ago, she was part of the coordinated effort by Democrat-supporting organization trying to make a scandal out of a lack of records on Kavanaugh, despite the massive paper trail that was publicly released, after Kavanaugh’s extensive career in government and as a judge.

Don’t understand that comment. The FBI already vetted him for recommendation purposes. Did the deep state at FBI purposely let this slide and then passed it on to the Dems?

And blurry black and white super 8 film of the thing.

Feinstein already referred Ford’s letter alleging the incident to the FBI and they sent it to WH for Kav bacround file.

No follow up necessary.

FBI has bigger problems than a teen party in 1982.

Same type of 180 move Lindsey Graham did. Makes me wonder because I know how he changed.

“This is at best a civil matter.”

Not even that. It’s like a football player filing assault charges against the guy that tackled him.

“Trump said that the FBI should not be involved further investigating the Kavanaugh allegations.”

That means Rosenfeinstein will probably have the Fumbling Bunch of Idiots go ahead and “investigate”.

>>If she doesn’t show up there’s no reason for a hearing. Schedule the vote and be done with it.<<

She should be made to appear at the hearing and defend her accusations with all the evidence she wishes to provide. Then, at the conclusion of her testimony she should be handcuffed and frogmarched out of the Chamber by the Capitol Hill police.
