“We in the West the world indeed live under a technocratic state-corporate hybrid. The corporation and the state are fused together.”
This is textbook fascism/dirigism.
The Left hates to be beaten, particularly in the intellectual sphere. This is because they are “all in” on a belief system that tells them they are not only uniquely virtuous, but also much smarter than ordinary people.
Professor Peterson shows them up for the second-rate intellectual lightweights they really are.
Though I'm a big fan of JP, this character pegged my 'Arrogant Asshole' meter right outta the gate.
The left is spilling over with hate. They have more than enough hate to go around. Hating this man is insane, but that didn’t stop the left from selecting him as the designated “hated”.
May the left’s neurons cease to fire.
Jordon Peterson is a refreshing breeze of common sense in the midst of constant drumbeat of the of the stale, marxist bromides spoon-fed to us everyday.
His basic premise is essentially that personal and social problems can be resolved with involvement of the State.
—He speaks the convoluted language of the academic Left, but rejects their politically correct conclusions
—His language and professional behavior are immune to their “phobe” and “ist” labels
—He mops the floor with them in debates and adversarial interviews (not hard to do)
—He’s getting popular with their targeted recruits.
Interesting article, but I think the author tries too hard. And needs to proofread.
(then again, so do I)
I was reading elsewhere that Jordan Peterson is arguably the most popular public intellectual of all time. Arguably is probably the operative word there, but it is indeed hard to think of another academic selling out decent-sized arenas in dozens of cities around the country.
To me, his message is powerful, even if it should be common sense. It’s basically a critique of modern leftism at the level of how it operates within an individual’s psychology. A psychologically healthy person does not blame others for their difficulties in life; instead, they focus on how they can successfully navigate those difficulties. And they’re glad to do so, for the benefit of themselves and those around them.
A society composed of people like does not need or want big government controlling every aspect of their lives.
Title of thread spells Peterson’s name incorrectly.
The Left actually hates everybody, but mostly themselves.
