This is my suspicion as well; although I think it is both - to delay the confirmation and to divert attention.
The confirmation vote better happen Wednesday. They were fools to wait so long - the longer they wait the more time for the ‘rats to conjure up smear crap.
Nothing will be “really bad for Democrats”. The media, no matter what it is, will shrug it off, barely report it and/or mame it look like “unprecedented” corruption by “this administration”. I know the playbook. Repukes, for their part, will stay quiet.
