Vanity: We need Ted Cruz in the Senate.

Posted on 09/15/2018 10:06:43 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Trump needs him. Texas needs him. If we are going to help Trump move his (our) conservative agenda, then we ALL need him. It would be absolutely insane to have any FReepers working against us on this critical point.

O'Rourke would be a disaster for all of us. If you're going to badmouth Cruz, don't do it on FR!

Go, Trump, GO!!

Go, Cruz, GO!!

Cruz may be losing. Beto is working hard. He’s had two town halls in my vicinity alone. Cruz needs to do the work necessary to stay in office. He’s not gonna be able to just ride incumbency all the way to the bank on this one.

I supported Ted Cruz in his first run and support his re-election as Senator for Texas.

I will never support another usurpation of the office of President.

“Well, that’s the first interesting new news about Cruz I’ve heard in a long while... where does Ted Cruz go to church? Or was it a one time meeting that he attended?”

Ted Cruz is a senator. Why should he be scrutinized for his church attendance? Will this new awareness about his church attendance result in supporting Sen. Cruz rather than constant badmouthing?

Like President Trump, Sen. Cruz identifies as Christian. Like President Trump, Sen. Cruz attends Christian church services. Like President Trump, Sen. Cruz has repeatedly asked for prayer.

Ted Cruz’s father was converted when Ted Cruz was a toddler, and became a Christian preacher in full-time ministry. Ted Cruz gave his heart to Christ at a Christian camp at the age of 8.

Someone participating in this discussion has a history of badmouthing this senator. On a recent—less than a week ago—post, someone went out the way to bring up Cruz to badmouth him on a thread which was not even about Cruz:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3686844/posts?page=25#25

Someone participating in this discussion is on the record for saying President Trump is wrong to support Ted Cruz’s reelection:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3684289/posts?page=54#54

I don’t see any retractions on this person’s posting history. I don’t see any evidence of this person now supporting Sen. Cruz at this crucial point in time. This person is just stating, in the form of a question, that Sen. Cruz never attends church.

This appears to be disguising a present attack on Sen. Cruz as a question and making a pretense of the poster being unfamiliar with Cruz’s faith. The link below indicates an awareness of his faith where a desire to debate about it was stipulated:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3684289/posts?page=99#92

On a thread explicitly about NOT badmouthing Ted Cruz this appears to be an attempt to get in one more subtle dig.

Was there a failure to read the brief post from the founder of this forum? Here is what Jim Robinson said:

“If you’re going to badmouth Cruz, don’t do it on FR!”

If a member of this forum can not bring herself (or himself) to support a Christian conservative that this nation and our president needs to hold his senate seat, such a person should keep her (or his) mouth shut.

I agree.

Those who feel like bashing Cruz need to have enough discipline to wait to do so until after the election.

He must win.

The same Cruz that threw Moore to the curb? But I guess we need the senate seat.

I just don’t believe Cruz is actually the losing.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Fake news Big Media lie all the time ...

But campaign like you're five points behind. I'm sending money to Ted Cruz and Patrick Morrisey.

I don’t think it would be great to have him in a position to decide that Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids are natural born citizens eligible to be President, born in Yemen to one citizen parent.

If he believes he is, they are.

To not be a ‘purist’ about Cruz would be national suicide, and lead to total loss of our freedoms.

Your treason is noted!

Look Mr. Racist fool, I don’t care!

I do care about the lies you have dedicated your life to spreading though.

The argument you try to live by was defeated by SCOTUS early in the 19th century while the court was comprised of founders who knew exactly what the constitution meant.

They ruled that the child born abroad, of a man who was himself a US citizen was a citizen by birth.

You lose.

Ted Cruz’s father was not a citizen of the USA until 2005.
