I’m talking about the stopcock on a gas service.
If you do not know what you’re doing you can actually cause a gas leak especially if the stopcock is an older plug design. If it hasn’t been operated in awhile, you can dislodge the packing and cause the core to leak.
Also on the older styles there is no positive stop on them. Meaning if you don’t turn them exactly 1/4 turn you could have blow-by.
Nice try, but not the same thing.
And to burst your bubble, they’ve already determined that this was NOT a deliberate act.
