A candidate endorsed by the Trump administration has won the Republican nomination for a U.S. House seat in New Hampshire, and hed be the states first black congressman if elected in November.
Eddie Edwards, of Dover, won a six-way race in Tuesdays GOP primary for the 1st Congressional District.
Edwards is a Navy veteran who also served as a police chief and as chief enforcement officer for the state liquor commission.

The 1st District seat covers much of the eastern half of the state. Its being left vacant by Democrat Carol Shea-Porter, who is stepping down after four non-consecutive terms.
Woo hoo, congrats, Eddie!
Edwards takes the nod in NH-1. Since he’s a Black Republican, the media will pretend he doesn’t exist.
Those darn Russians!!!
Being endorsed by Donald Trump is not the same as being endorsed by the Trump Administration. I dont think an administration can endorse a political candidate or at least it shouldnt. Donald Trump is well within his free speech rights to endorse any candidate he wants to. I think the phrasing in the story is purposely misleading.
Excellent.
We don’t care about color, just so he is reasonable and a Trump-supporter who wants to help MAGA.
Another week, another Trump win.

I agree, let’s see if Trump has a rally or tweets for Edwards directly. Inaccurate headline from Ass. Press...
Agree, but citizens of NH were recently accused of being “too white” so Eddie’s run really helps stick it to the racist ‘Rats. I met Edwards this year, heard him speak several times. He’s great, very dynamic, and a real patriot. He’s going to bring total grief to Pelosi & Co. And because he’s from military & LE background he will be a major help to the President in Congress on border security, drug trafficking, terrorism - and our vets! NH has a huge percentage of veterans, 10% as I recall - far higher than the US population average.
I think Levi Sanders felt the burn in the Dem primary for that seat: the son of Bernie Sanders came in 7th of 11 candidates.
This guy sat on the board of a leftist, pro-amnesty and pro-Planned Parenthood organization for years.
He’s fake MAGA if ever there was one.
He was on the board of the big nonprofit there that has been pushing ways to make NH less white.
This guy was on the board of a nonprofit that was all about color.
He voted against those measures so I don’t know what the problem is.
The entire organization is a problem that only exists for that sort of stuff. Wake up.
Putting their state slogan “Live Free or Die” back into the state.
Well, I don’t know anything about this organization but even if the worst version of events is true and they do nothing good at all, which I don’t take as a given just because you say so, big f deal, he sat on a board, oh the humanity, boards seats like that are mostly sinecures you know. Trump gave money to democrats in the PAST.
This man will vote against making that c-word Nancy Queen of the House again so she can raise taxes and persecute Trump 24/7. Even IF he’s a typical NH “RINO” like Kelly Ayotte it’s still worth walking over broken glass to see him elected. Queen C-word must never take the throne again.
And the runner up and only viable alternative in this primary (which is now over, Edwards is the nominee) was some Ron Paul dude.
Edwards has never held elective office before so he doesn’t have a voting record or an executive governing record to parse to see if he’s as conservative as he claims but he deserves the benefit of the dobut and our support in race against a marxist pig.
If he’s elected and votes for planned parenthood then you can come to me and say I told so and I’ll go far as to crack the bones of the crow you serve me and drink the marrow.
Should be a top 5 or so takeover opportunity.
14K or so more votes cast in the rat primary. I don’t know how significant that is cause this the first time there’s been a contested primary on both sides recently.
