The 1st District seat covers much of the eastern half of the state. It’s being left vacant by Democrat Carol Shea-Porter, who is stepping down after four non-consecutive terms.

Being endorsed by Donald Trump is not the same as being endorsed by the Trump Administration. I don’t think an administration can endorse a political candidate or at least it shouldn’t. Donald Trump is well within his free speech rights to endorse any candidate he wants to. I think the phrasing in the story is purposely misleading.

Excellent news all around - I assume it means he beat the other 5 candidates with 50%+1 vote or more? Good to see the party rally and clearly the endorsement helped. Lots of anecdotal evidence that there is no “blue wave” except in the heads of the “98% chance Hillary wins” pollsters. Does he have a chance to beat the Democrat? I noticed it was a seat given up by the Dem incumbent making it an open seat.
