One reason I’m voting Cox and Feinstein in November. At 85 or whatever, I don’t really expect her to last the next 6 years, and de Leon makes Harris look like a “Moderate” Democrat, and a bloody genius as well.

Not only will Feinstein vote conservative 5% of the time versus 0% for De León, the reasons why I would crawl over broken grass to vote for Feinstein over De León in the run-off to the (unconstitutional) jungle primary is that she’s 85 years old (34 years older than De León), making it almost certain that this would be her final Senate term (thus giving the GOP the chance to win an open-seat race in 2024) and rather likely that she will kick the bucket before then (which would give the GOP the chance to take the seat in a special election). Moreover, De León’s age and profile makes him a potential future presidential candidate if he wins the Senate election, while such ship already sailed for Feinstein long ago.

Much of this post sounds like the reasoning for voting for Loretta Sanchez over Kamala Harris two years ago (the main exception is any talk about a candidate's advanced age). I wonder if this type of thinking will be readily used in future general elections in California, though I hope for better choices.

Feinstein is being harmed because she’s not crazy enough for the left base today.

Honestly did you ever think Fienstien would be to right wing for the democrats??

Yeah, it wasn’t that Loretta Sanchez was too old to go on to seek higher office had she been elected to the U.S. Senate, it was just that she didn’t have the profile or résumé to do so, whereas Kamala Harris did.

Hopefully California conservatives that didn’t vote for Loretta Sanchez (as terrible as she is) over Kamala Harris in the run-off have learned their lesson and will vote for Feinstein over De León.

Both seats in play in an honest election. Heck, an “honest”, as in no illegals voting, election probably restores the GOP in a landslide.

To my
Mind, demLeon comes out of the closet as a democratic socialist the day after he’s elected, thus giving
Impetus to the movement. That’s enough for me to vote for the old hag

Difi is likely costing herself GOP votes with this ridiculous Kavanaugh stunt. There’s a lot of potential for GOP voters who don’t know who DeLeon is to just vote against her.
