Signs of a blue wave are increasing as lawmakers return to Washington for their final few weeks of legislative work before the crucial midterm elections.
Democrats have led Republicans by at least 11 points in five of the last six polls asking voters whether they favor a generic Democrat or a generic Republican in the race for Congress.
That margin only slightly trails the Democratic advantage in 2006, when the party won back control of Congress.
Democrats also enjoy a fundraising advantage, one that is perhaps bolstered by polls showing their party is more enthusiastic about turning out to vote this November, figures borne out by higher turnout in Democratic primary contests in states across the country.
After a brutal August that ended with the conviction of his former campaign chairman, a guilty plea from his former personal lawyer and a final feud with Sen. John McCain that played out during memorials to the late Arizona Republican, President Trumps job approval rating has sunk to record or near-record lows in several polls.
Reputable surveys show his approval rating trading at the nadir of his traditional range, between 36 percent and 41 percent. More voters strongly disapprove of Trump than approve in total, a measure of how heavy an anchor he will be around the GOP candidates necks.

The same polls that had Hillary with a lock on the Presidency, no doubt.
I think Rasmussen got lucky in 2016. They used landlines, which may have given Trump a boost in the poll numbers, but the Ras numbers turned out to be correct because of Trump turnout. As you posted, right now Ras (D +4) and yougov (D+5) are pretty close. I suspect that yougov has better methods than Ras, but nobody knows for sure what is going to happen. All we can do is try to convince others and vote.
You are correct, there is an unbelievable number of idiots in the electorate.
Suure, all we have to do is get the Demons to wear grey uniforms.
Don’t extrapolate from opinions here to the general population.
The AF are ready to deal with this mess and have been for the last 5 years. How do you think we got were we are today and who helped put Trump in?
The problem is not being able to identify the enemy other than the out-front Demons. A.F. cannot do it either.
We know who the enemy is sure and clear. We have a list.
It follows a simple philosophy: “That which is not Constitutional, must be sterilized!!”
I’m 72 and was 4-F when I tried to enlist in the 1960s and I have physically declined since.
Thus I am thankful for good people like you to man the front lines. I’ll do what I can from the rear.
God bless you.
“My worry is that these articles (becoming much more frequent) are the staging ground as cover for massive voter fraud in the mid-terms.”
A valid concern. Even more than turning out the vote, we must—must, must, must—stop demonrat fraud.
If we were chauffeuring people from polling place to polling place, the leftwads would slash the tires on our vans.
If we were smuggling ballot boxes here and there, the leftwads would beat us up and hold us for the police.
If we were poll workers, and spent slack time marking up fake votes, the leftwads would physically stop us.
“My worry is that these articles (becoming much more frequent) are the staging ground as cover for massive voter fraud in the mid-terms.”
They didn’t cheat enough last time. This time they will.
My prediction:
R’s +4 in Senate
-21 in House
You are absolutely correct. We cannot sit back and casually dismiss polls we don't like, or articles we don't like, as "unrealistic" or "biased." The Democrats will pull out all the stops in the mid terms. We need to get out there and vote, and convince as many other people as possible to vote. Complacency is our biggest enemy.
