???....
Sorry FRiend, totally missed the /s.
I thought he was stupid to do it, too. Why give ammo to your enemies?
I know the slang term (among mostly under 40 year olds) “chimpout” refers to sudden anger outbursts from persons of color, or, from anyone being upset (any race).
Problem is the monoamine oxidase released in the front section of the brains of certain people (of any race!) is excessive and this leads to a sudden urge to violence. This is seen in playground fights where the first, not last, resort is to try to maim or kill someone who “disses” someone. Road rage. Classroom violence. Neighborhood fights in the streets. Riots.
In the 1800s racial theories contended that african americans were genetically and intellectually inferior to all other races. “Black: A Beast” is a banned nonfiction book from that era, including controversial factual support of the supposed closeness to the facial and other characteristics evolving from apes to later human African americans. Some of this was due to the fight between religious Bible believers and the evolutionary theories about “descending from ape ancestors” that caused anger everywhere.
Thus “chimpout” and “monkey (anything)” is highly insulting today and the historical implications are infuriating to persons of color due to the past history, not today’s insult.
Muhammad Ali stood over the fallen Sonny Liston and yelled “Get up, you big ugly ape!” in their heavyweight championship fight. A white boxer could not have said that or we’d be debating it to this day. Any such references are considered derogatory to the highest degree and have to be avoided.
I never hear the term had anything to do with race until this week. The hateful left must have their own language.
“The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state.”
If just hear, like I did, “The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up” without the 2nd half of the sentence it gives an opening to the possibility thst he was hinting “going from a white governor to a black governor” is “monkeying up”, but that idea is just ruined when you are given the 2nd half the sentence which the media removed.
Looks totally like...
In Bedtime for Bonzo, is Ronald Reagan trying to convince Bonzo of the wisdom of tax cuts?
Yes, I know Bonzo was an ape, not a monkey.
I am not familiar with the “chimp out” term. But yes, anything that crosses over to a monkey or ape reference for blacks is understandably seen as highly insulting.
It would be nice if we could get beyond the double standards—eg, fine to post side-by-sides of Trump with an orangutan, but use the Planet of the Apes hair meme with someone who identifies as black, even though she doesn’t by the eyeball test appear black, and you could lose your sitcom and career.
Each time someone crosses into the grey area to saying something that could be considered racially insulting however, that time when we can stop paying attention to this stuff gets pushed still farther into the future.
