Rep. Al Green: Trump Doesn't Need To Commit A Crime To Be Impeached, 218 Members Of House Decide
RCP Video ^ | 8-24-2018 | Tim Hains

(excerpt)

REP. AL GREEN: "... Impeachment is something that the Framers of the Constitution provided for a time such as this and a president such as Trump. The president does not have to commit a crime to be impeached. In fact, the president is not likely to be indicted, which means he’s not likely to be found guilty of a crime while he’s sitting, which means that if this comes before the House, it won’t come before the House as a president who has been found guilty, but rather as a president who is alleged to have committed certain offenses that are onerous to the Constitution and that harm society. And what this president is doing is harming society.

More specifically, what Mr. Cohen stated in court—he had a lawyer. He is a lawyer. He says that he and the president of the United States conspired. He didn’t use that exact word, but that’s what it means when you say the president directed you, and you followed through. So they conspired to commit an offense. The president may never be found guilty of it, but he can be impeached for it.

It’s my opinion that the Judiciary Committee is not doing its job. This whole impeachment investigation is being outsourced. The Framers of the Constitution intended for the Judiciary Committee to do this—gather information, make decisions, move forward. If the Judiciary Committee doesn’t move forward, then I think it’s incumbent upon the 435 members, each of whom have the opportunity to bring articles of impeachment, to consider doing so. I will surely consider doing so. ..."

Remember this Dem Al Green who wanted to impeach Trump before ANY of the evidence "fell out", and who thought the impeachment process of a sitting president is held and decided by the House. [Hint: Constitution didn't say so.]

Read more at the source if you think your blood pressure can take it.

To Al Green: If you people stage a coup via a phony impeachment then we don’t need any more of a reason to hang you for trying to overthrow our government.

It is true. Impeachment is a political process.

Give the Democrats the House, and they can impeach. It does not matter if their is a prosecutable crime.

Then the trial goes to the Senate.

But the point is, the House can neuter a President's power.

Factually correct. A Congressional majority can impeach for whatever phoney BS reason they wish. It’s a political act, not a judicial one.

We came close to doing it to Andrew Johnson.

If you add Al Green’s IQ to Maxine Water’s IQ the result would still be less than 70.

The crime Trump committed was winning the election..that was the ultimate crime in the mind of the commie left..they wanted America to turn Communist with Hillary Clinton’s win, they failed..and they know if Kavanaugh gets sworn into the Supreme Court, they will never again have the opportunity to turn America Communist..they want Trump gone, either dead, impeached, put in jail, doesn’t matter to them they want him gone now

As impeachment is a political process, he is correct.

Technically he is correct. Reagan could have been impeached the day after he was sworn in if they had the votes, if only because they thought he died his hair.

Settling a lawsuit out of court when you aren’t the president constitutes High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Al, there are people talking about you selling drugs to your fellow democrats in DC. We can't prove it, but we can get you imprisoned for it.

How ignorant this guy is.

He is as crazy as Waters, just smarter. The constitution actually specifies the conditions under which a president can be impeached.

Just because we want to is not included in that portion. This butthead well knows this which means he is a bald faced liar.

In other words, he is a typical liberal.

If you think Al Green gives a single rip about the Constitution then you’re not paying attention.

So much for asking, where is the treason , bribery, or high crimes and misdemeanors, which technically must be cited in any impeachment????

(More from Al Green)

“It’s my opinion that you cannot allow an unfit president to continue to cause harm to society. Let’s take just a few examples quickly. When those persons in Charlottesville were saying “blood and soil,” “Jews will not replace us,” many of them worked in places that probably serve Jews and minority persons. One can only imagine what would happen to the food of a person who is of African ancestry who is being served by one of those bigots, one of those racists. Let’s take the example of what happened at the border with those babies that were being separated from their mothers by virtue of a policy instituted by this president. That was a form of bigotry that is intolerable. We don’t have to allow the president to continue to harm our society.”

??? That was his example of Trump being unfit. Charlottesville? Where is Trump’s crime in Charlottesville? And if Dem representative Al Green doesn’t like Trump admin enforcing the law on the book, he is more than capable of (well, likely not) introducing legislature to change that.

“Give the Democrats the House, and they can impeach”

Give the Democrats the House, and they WILL impeach. There is no question. The fate of the country may rest on these midterm elections. I’m not sure Trump supporters are taking this seriously enough.

He's right. This is a whole new ball game. Our republican representation in congress has betrayed us because we did not elect who they wanted us to elect. Not much we can do in the short term.
