Inmates will go on strike by refusing to eat and work to protest 'prison slavery'

Prison inmates across the country are preparing to go on strike by refusing to eat or work, as a way to protest what they call 'prison slavery' and poor conditions.

Though the extent of the planned strike is not known, prisoners in at least 17 states say they will be taking part in coordinated action, which will begin on Tuesday and last through September 9.

Organizers say the strike is partly in response to the April riot in South Carolina's Lee Correctional Institution, where seven inmates were killed by other prisoners when gang tensions boiled over.

The masterminds of the strike have issued a list of 10 'demands', including an improvement of prison conditions, an end to life imprisonment, and an end to low-paid jobs behind bars.

OK. You don’t need to eat. And you can subsist on ham sandwiches and water until you go back to work.

The question who is behind the scene organizing this?

When we were in Turkey, we learned that prisons didn’t provide meals, so you’d better know someone on the outside who would bring you food.

Oh here we go, this will turn out to be the latest movement by the left: “Prison slavery must go! It’s RAYYYYYCIST!” They’re whining and complaining about illegals going to jail, so naturally this will be the next. “Our killers, rapists and thieves must be compensated!!”

Sinope prison provides thumb screws and iron maidens ... no food, no medical, no necessities, or roof supplied, life expectancy = 7 years max.

Defacto mandatory prison labor for private corporations and private prisons create massive financial incentive to place more people behind bars. We already have confirmed incidents with corrupt judges being bribed to place more people in certain for-profit prisons (at taxpayer expense).

Not good and should be 100% banned in civilized society. Nobody should profit based on taking peoples’ freedom and it leads to nothing but the worst imaginable corruption

They're prisons with cells.

They're not intended to be cellar Safe Rooms furnished with a MY PILLOW® and mom's home cooking 3 times a day.

The idea is that they should be uncomfortable enough that once released a convict never wants to return.

I think a return to remotely located prisons with hard labor like busting rocks all day would solve a lot of problems and cut way down on recidivism.

>>where seven inmates were killed by other prisoners when gang tensions boiled over.

That’s the only slavery in prison, and in the entire minority community. Their stupid tribalism in the form of gangs that you must join and serve to survive.

So they are going without meals for four whole days? The poor dears!

The commissary shelves will be empty for all the packaged snacks they are allowed to buy and the whole bunch will stink with no clean clothes, dirty showers and floors that go without sweeping. They will feel just like they are back home in their "crib"!!

Enjoy your half empty bellies and the six months added on to your sentences for disregarding orders to come out for meals and jobs, dummy.

HAM?... Sheriff Joe used to feed his prisoners bologna sandwiches!

If they don’t eat they won’t have the energy to fight and kill one another. They also won’t have the energy to do the work to earn money to buy snacks, etc.

These protesters are mental midgets.

They should have thought about prison life before they decided to be a criminal
