Guy came into a steak place that I worked at about 30 minutes before closing. Chef had already cleaned the grill and shut it down. Sent waitress out to see if they’d eat something from the fryer but the customer wanted steak since it’s what we were famous for. Customer insisted on a steak so the chef played catch with it for a few minutes before firing up the grill and serving it to him.
Waitered during university part time at a fancy Italian fusion place. Poor sap tells me, to tell the chef to ‘drain’ the marsala sauce from the entire sea bass dish which is stupid. Chef cooks another meal but tells the prep cooks to spit in the meal..which they did. I just handed the dish, explained the chef made a brand new dish especially for him. Let’s just say, i avoid that place after graduation.
I worked in the food business and never saw anything done to food or I would of told the guest and quit the place and also told the owner or food and beverage director.
You don’t mess with people’s food that’s sick.
I cook mainly at home.
I spent many years in the Food Service Biz. If the Establishment Closes at say 11:00PM One SHOULD NOT CLOSE THE KITCHEN at 10:30PM and then be pissed if a Customer comes in and Orders Food. That’s wrong, stupid and Bullshit!
If the place is Open till 11:00PM then the kitchen should be Open till then!
If the place is Open till 11:00PM BUT the kitchen closes at 10:30PM THEN POST A SIGN ON THE DOOR!!!

GROSSNESS AHEAD:
When I was a young man I worked at The Fish Market restaurant in San Mateo, CA. You know, the one on Norfolk.
The owner’s son was a big cokehead. He did coke in the restaurant bathroom. He got his license revoked for DUI. He biked in to harass the employees. He frittered his life away and did nothing productive. He was a rude a-hole. Let’s call him Chucky.
Anyway, he was hated. He came in with a group one night and ostentatiously demanded the best tuna steak we had.
So my coworker got one and DRAGGED IT ACROSS THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE MEN’S URINAL. You know, where the pee congregates.
So, on the way out, Chucky told my coworker it was the best tuna steak he ever had.
