I’ve read that name but definitely am proud that I do not keep up with today’s (or the past 30 years’) music.
Makes me think of Peter Sellers in the Magic Christian asking his ad man to re-read the car ad in the American accent. He said “That was the American accent, sir.”
Sellers: “Good God, what’s going on over there?”
I followed music closely from the early 1960s,and reviewed for Creem Magazine, and still followed it in 1986-1988 or so but then swore off.
So he was a “male” and a “funk star”. Died with 9 drugs in his system but not cause of death.
