CNN Just Sued The Government To Get The Names And Addresses Of Manafort Jurors
The Federalist ^ | August 17, 201 | Bre Payton

The anti-Trump cable news network has a long history of doxxing threats and harassment.

In a motion filed in federal court on Thursday, CNN and several other media outlets requested that the court release the names and home addresses of all jurors in the Paul Manafort fraud case. Jurors haven not yet rendered a verdict on any of the 18 charges against Manafort, who briefly served as President Donald Trump’s campaign manager in 2016.

The motion — filed on behalf of CNN, Washington Post, BuzzFeed, POLITICO, New York Times, NBC Universal, and the Associated Press — asks the court to provide to the media organizations the full names and home addresses of the men and women who were summoned and selected by the federal government to serve as jurors in Manafort’s fraud case.

The media request for the names and home addresses of jurors comes a day after the jury began deliberating about the verdicts on 18 fraud and conspiracy counts against Manafort.

Anyone want to serve on a jury if CNN gets your name?

It also comes right after the jury inquired about "reasonable doubt". Definite intimidation tactic by the usual suspects.

Jury tampering. Charge the boards of directors of CNN, Comcast, NYT with felony jury tampering.

And a day after some people on television - stupidly - implied that the jurors were going for an acquittal.

This is appalling; we’ll end up with no one doing jury duty which is probably what they are aiming for, long-term.

Every institution around us is collapsing.

CNN wins both ways. If not guilty, they will try to track down the jurors to make their lives a living hell. If guilty, it will embolden them to repeat this in the future.

FOX and others have been repeating that Manafort will face a second trial in Wash DC after this one is over, but they never explain the second case. What is he being charged with in addition to the sham trial he's in now?

Since these people are supposed to put Manafort away for life and bring down Trump, why would they want to threaten the jurors with doxxing this way?

Is someone nervous?

This is a blatant attempt to intimidate the jury. The threat to publicize their identities will make the jurors think twice about voting not guilty and risk national ridicule by news organizations that so obviously want a guilty verdict.

The Judge should release the names when CNN publishes the names, addresses, phone numbers, children’s schools of their reporters. The publication should be in both English and Arabic.

The motion is contemptible, I’d hope in two meanings of that word! The clients making the request and their paid hit attorneys, who should know better but still filed it, deserve to be thrown in jail by the judge, for contempt of his court, for the duration of the jury deliberation, at least. Then institute disbarment proceedings on the attorneys. Anything less would be insufficient IMHO. After the deliberation the judge, with all due discretion, may consider such request.

You are exactly right. This is jury intimidation; an attempt to frighten them into rendering a guilty verdict.
The judge has refused to reveal their identities, and he has received death threats.
Yes, the Democrats are terrified.
