Bannon’s New Group Issues a Midterm Plea: Save Trump
The New York Times ^ | August 15, 2018 | Maggie Haberman and Jeremy W. Peters

Posted on 08/15/2018 5:00:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Stephen K. Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, is forming a group to try to sell voters on a midterm message that they should support Republicans to defend the Trump agenda and save the president from impeachment.

The group, Citizens of the American Republic, is Mr. Bannon’s new vehicle after he was pushed out of the White House last summer and then parted ways with the conservative website Breitbart.

Mr. Bannon declined to describe his donors or how much money the group has raised. One person close to the group said that Rebekah Mercer, the hedge fund billionaire who supported Mr. Bannon’s previous political efforts but broke ties with him months ago, has no role.

Most of Mr. Trump’s advisers in the White House consider Mr. Bannon’s foray into the midterms to be quixotic — they say the House is almost certainly lost to the Democrats — and see his efforts as another way to promote himself. They point to Mr. Bannon’s paltry record in backing Republican candidates, particularly Roy S. Moore, the Alabama Senate hopeful who was accused of sexual misconduct against several women, including a teenager, and lost last year to a Democrat.

But Mr. Bannon, who insists that approaching congressional races as one-offs is a waste of time, is planning a messaging push on cable television, the op-ed pages of newspapers and local conservative radio shows. His premise is that more of Mr. Trump will be a good thing.

“More than any other midterm, this is a referendum on his style and on his content, and you cannot run from that; you have to embrace it,” Mr. Bannon said in an interview.....

It's like it would kill them to write anything nice about President Trump, his family, Pence, Stephen Miller, Bannon, Sarah Huckabee Sanders or John Bolton.

If he’s not on Trump’s side he’s the greatest actor in the history of the world.

He’s not. He’s just biding his time so he can become POTUS.

I will never vote for him, that’s for sure.

Anywhoo, none of that will matter if the dems take back the house or senate. America as we know it will be finished.

Oh please. Based on anonymous sources I’m guessing. The Slimes and the rest of them in the MSM are in for a rude awakening. I’m not gonna join the “Gloom and Doom” folks out there!

It sure would be nice to see Pence out there defending POTUS the way Biden did for Obama, or Al Gore did for BJ.

at gloBULL warming insiders’ website - not the Bannon reference:

14 Aug: ClimateChangeNews: Brazil: Bolsonaro threatens to quit Paris climate deal
De facto presidential frontrunner says he would follow Donald Trump out of the international pact, drawing criticism from the UN’s environment chief
By Megan Darby
Presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro is threatening to take Brazil out of the Paris Agreement if he wins the October election.
In an unpredictable race, the right-wing Bolsonaro is polling second behind Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the socialist former president. But “Lula” is in jail for corruption and likely to be disqualified by the courts, leaving a scattered field…

The day after Trump announced his intention to quit the Paris deal, Bolsonoro shared an article defending the decision entitled “the greenhouse fables”…
Bolsonaro’s three eldest sons, all elected officials, have been more outspoken on the issue...

A photograph, reportedly taken last week, shows Eduardo meeting former Trump adviser and far-right propagandist Steve Bannon in New York. Bannon was one of the strongest White House advocates for the US to withdraw from the deal...

I turned off cable TV a year ago and could care less what these idiots at CNN. MSLSD and even FOX News think about anything. There are times I get wary of the doom and gloom attitude that permeates among a good number of Freepers. I understand the concern, but I think when America has its back to the wall it responds to the danger. A Trump victory two years ago wasn’t supposed to happen but it did, and I believe the Dems will get their noses bloodied again in three months time. There are only a couple of thousand Freepers but there are tens of millions of our fellow non-Freeper Americans who think as we do. Have faith folks and turn that damn TV off and tell Jake Tapper, Jim Acosta and the rest of them to pound sand!

He was not a full-term Governor at the time of his election, so I tend to cut him some slack.

The New York Times should consider forming a group to prevent their hanging for treason.

I just don’t know enough about him, and am pretty sure he would have blended in with the Rs running in 2016. — Besides Trump’s kind of a hard act to follow. ;)
