A “Kurdish Nation” would need to be carved out of pieces of Turkey, Iran and Iraq ... it ain’t happening ... some lost battles from the Middle Ages are just gonna stay lost ... the Iraqi Kurds have a great deal of autonomy and that’s the best the Kurds can hope for ... they sure as heck aren’t gonna get that in their two neighboring countries ...

It’s a shame that the B-2 Spirit can’t drop MOAB’s - I think dropping one right in the middle of the Presidential Complex in Ankara in the middle of the night from a B-2 would let Erdogan and the Turks know not to f*ck with the USA.

I’ve often wondered why we don’t move our assets at Incirlik to Israel Well; the best reason is likely the physical size of an American airbase. Israel is a very small country. To use up so much of it for one of our bases would be cumbersome to the Jews who live there.
You bring up a good point though. Perhaps something could be worked out to keep some fighters and bombers at the Israeli airbase with our troops and support personnel. Something limited in scope yet available if the need arises.

Thanks for perspective. More recent officer’s I know who served there have nothing good to say about duty at Incirlik.
