A Plainfield man was arrested Saturday on a felony charge accusing him of making threats on social media targeting U.S. Rep. Chris Smith.
Dereal Finklin, 43, is charged with making terroristic threats and is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in Freehold.
He is scheduled to have a detention hearing next week.
Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Chris Swendeman said the threat against Smith, R-4th Dist., was made online.

I knew it would have something to do with the media!
Of course liberal actors and actresses and even California elected officials can threaten and promote violence against President Trump and they walk free. We need to demand that threats against our elected Republican office holders at all levels be taken seriously and that the person(s) making the threats or enciting violence be prosecuted the the maximum under the law. Maxine Waters should be in an orange jumpsuit.
