I'm not making excuses. I'm trying to avoid hypocrisy. See, if we demand that the government regulate what Foolbook does, then what's to stop that same government from regulating what Free Republic does? How can we say we're for smaller government unless it benefits us?

Nobody is forcing anyone to use Fascistbook. If enough people stop using it, it tanks. Quit turning to the government for solutions. They don't work.

regardless of the free enterprise angle, Facebook,Twitter and searches on Google will soon declare all conservatives are hate speech and eliminate them.

Then they can say, dummies with their “free enterprise” schtick—now we wiped them all out.
Conservatives will have no speech at all.

Yes you will have to use Facebook, Twitter or Google searches or never be heard from. “private” but still a monopoly.

Like saying no William Howard Taft supporters can ride on or send merchandise on the railroads. “private.” You would say they could ride donkeys or horses and pull wagons themselves. Opponent and their merchandise could be on the private railroads—all owned by one guy.

If you wrote a book and no one could ever search it on Google, or buy it on Amazon, or get it discussed on Twitter or Facebook, then good luck with your warehouse full of unsold copies or getting a 2nd try at a publisher. It’s over. and “private.”

I don’t get it.
Isn’t FR constrained by the government and subject to being wiped out, too?

I sincerely don’t know how it all works. If Google searches say “hate speech” can’t a government say “racist” to FR?

Well I don’t, and never have had a Facebook account. Don’t use Google either (Duckduckgo instead) sooooo your comments don’t really make sense to me. And as far as Twitter goes, don’t have that either.

Besides, since I work in cyber security - I really don’t want to publish information about my life and my family to the world.

That’s cool, you were wrong twice!

And no, they literally didn’t build that. Government was there in the very beginning. And they have functioned as a wing of the CIA, and where organizers with the state department of the Arab Spring revolts. There are government agency, that functions as a political action committee for the Democrat Party. And no common carrier like phone companies would be allowed to discriminate based on politics. Time to quit playing by standard boxing rules when we are in a MMA cage Deathmatch.

Ted Cruz on Alex Jones Facebook ban: ‘Who the hell made Facebook the arbiter of political speech?’

Cruz is right about this. Facebook should not be allowed to censor speech, and I don't want to hear any crap about them being a "Private" company. If private companies are allowed to corner huge communications market share and then start censoring speech, it will become impossible to stop government from controlling speech by putting pressure on private companies, or by creating their own front "private company" to do the same thing.

Our laws should prohibit censoring of speech no matter who is doing it.

Fakebook is a free enterprise. Government has no business telling it what it can and cannot (or must and must not) publish.

This is nonsensical and short sighted. If Google or Facebook or Twitter can censor speech, how do you know it's not government behind this effort by putting pressure on them?

You allow any entity that controls a large market share of communications traffic to censor speech, and you will eventually have government censorship of speech. Obama thug would not hesitate to contact private companies and threaten them with consequences if they didn't do what he wanted.

Would you make the same argument if, in the next Presidential debate, they let the RAT candidate speak as long as it wished and then limited the Republican to twenty seconds... with the sound down? It’s their TV network, after all.

Some people do not grasp the threat posed by allowing any mass communications entity to control speech. Public or Private censorship makes no difference. If we allow censorship, we are doomed.

Fakebook is a free enterprise. Government has no business telling it what it can and cannot (or must and must not) publish.

Facebook is free to ban people if they want, however, if they have decided that their forum is only for left wing members, they need to declare publicly that they will only tolerate left wing speech, and that any conservative comments are subject to censorship and those conservative members can be banned in their terms and conditions.

Don't do the sneaky, lying, scheming BS. Come right out and publicly let their members and the public, and their stockholders know that they will only tolerate left wing speech and issues. Let the public know that they are a left wing activist forum.

And when they do that, they lose the protection of a private business and become a political action committee for the DNC. And an entire body of election law kicks in.

Mmm ok. They are a wing of both the CIA and the DNC, right?

Facebook built its own platform and business model. Government may have developed the UUNET, but Facebook took things from thereTthat gives them no right to regulate the internet. Talk about a slippery slope.
