Mueller Examining Trump’s Tweets in Wide-Ranging Obstruction Inquiry
NY Times ^ | 07/26/18 | By Michael S. Schmidt and Maggie Haberman

For years, President Trump has used Twitter as his go-to public relations weapon, mounting a barrage of attacks on celebrities and then political rivals even after advisers warned he could be creating legal problems for himself.

Those concerns now turn out to be well founded. The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, is scrutinizing tweets and negative statements from the president about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey, according to three people briefed on the matter.

Several of the remarks came as Mr. Trump was also privately pressuring the men — both key witnesses in the inquiry — about the investigation, and Mr. Mueller is examining whether the actions add up to attempts to obstruct the investigation by both intimidating witnesses and pressuring senior law enforcement officials to tamp down the inquiry.

Mr. Mueller wants to question the president about the tweets. His interest in them is the latest addition to a range of presidential actions he is investigating as a possible obstruction case: private interactions with Mr. Comey, Mr. Sessions and other senior administration officials about the Russia inquiry; misleading White House statements; public attacks; and possible pardon offers to potential witnesses.

None of what Mr. Mueller has homed in on constitutes obstruction, Mr. Trump’s lawyers said. They argued that most of the presidential acts under scrutiny, including the firing of Mr. Comey, fall under Mr. Trump’s authority as the head of the executive branch and insisted that he should not even have to answer Mr. Mueller’s questions about obstruction.

In reality this is good. If Mueller wants to tie up fifty prosecutors in combing thru Trumps Twitter feed, that's a good thing.

Momma always said, "stupid is as stupid does".

Mueller always makes these announcements on the heels of a victory for Trump (pending trade deal with EU). Anyone else notice a pattern here?

And I think there is an algorithm search engine for searching Twitter Tweets for free. It's called "Twitter".

Or is Mueller hiring a forensic search consultant for $2 million to do what is for free?

This POS is going to be “investigating” through the 2020 election. All that free oppo research on the behalf of the dems — such a deal for them.

No skin off him.. he'll just hire another 50. He's playing with house (read: taxpayer) money, nothing's stopping him.

Mr. Mueller evidently believes he was appointed to investigate President Trump for any and all purposes which may occur to him.

That's exactly what he was appointed to do.

I want Trump to infer secret emails exist on a secret server hid in a bathroom closet in Trump Tower, and that his staff is furiously deleting them and smashing their mobile devices with hammers.

Trump needs to bring him up to the oval office for a conference. He needs to have Kelly play the role of Luca Brasi and put a filing in front of him which ends the sham investigation while telling him one of two things will be on the filing before he leaves.

That’s ok, Trump isn’t actually the subject of any investigation.

Did you know that the president cannot “obstruct” justice in fact. He is head of the justice department and is “ justice” per se. I have all of the presidents Tweets. zero obstruction , anyway. Mueller is a joke.

So predictable, he has not one drop of evidence about collusion and he wants a process crime on the President.

Same with Plame fiasco. no crime committed and Scooter goes to jail on a process crime when there was no underlying crime.

As soon as you see that name dismiss the article as pure DNC propaganda.

She was exposed in the Wikileaks as a wholly owned propaganda whore of the DNC.

Muller isn't making these claims. The NY Times is the one who continually claims to have "secret" sources telling them this garage. They always release it right after a major Trump win.

And surprise, this "reporter" who was exposed as a wholly owned propaganda whore for the DNC in the 2016 Wikileaks, is always involved in the "story".

He’s going to get a jury of DC Leftists to issue a BS indictment, and CW 2.0 will be ON.
