So we should all disarm and be left defenseless against criminal thugs because blacks are disproportionately victims of SYG?
How about the black community (and Hispanics) step up and speak out about gang violence and cultural issues leading their youth down the wrong path? Or is it not my right to speak up about that because I'm a white Christian male?

...
SYG wasn’t even used in the St. Trayvon case.

Let him do his thing. It will help keep FL red for the midterms.

How about a 250# thug sit on that guys chest and cover his nose and mouth with his hand all the while basheing his head into the concrete over and over until he changes his mind about “stand your ground”.. BTW stand your ground was NEVER used as a defense in this case. it was SELF DEFENSE” YOU MORON- talking about the lawyer and anyone else who is upset st. travon is dead.

And, supposedly in the recent incident, despite the sheriff’s statement, it wasn’t SYG in that case either. Not sure, but from what I’ve seen (scant info) that seems to be the case. Legal eagles will sort it out. Maybe.

Florida's "stand your ground" law recently changed so that the burden of proof now falls on the prosecution, not the defense. Not only is every reference to stand your ground incorrect, but this part is flatly untrue.

this part is flatly untrue. Could you explain? They change SYG last year, and my recollection is that they shifted the burden of proof to the state.

Ah the other "thug beats on someone who offered him no violence and got shot" case.
Perhaps these "parents" should teach their spawn to keep their hands to themselves? It is a lesson usually learned by kindergarten so it should be well with in their capacities.

Zimmerman is a jerk but that is immaterial.
Martin chose to turn back after having got away, had he not turned back he would have lived. Zimmerman would have walked around for a while to no avail. We would have never heard of either guy.
It was Martin’s choice to turn back and attack Zimmerman that actually led to his death.
Turns out Martin was a jerk too, one who thought his being offended or creeped out justified violence.

The defender of a young man beating another mans head into the sidewalk over and over has pretty much shot his own credibility all to hell.

Some here at FR would agree
Parents raise a dysfunctional son who uses drugs and steals from people and is busy slamming someones head into the cement. Gee no wonder he got shot

Black persons use guns to legitimately defend themselves a lot.
Also, Zimmerman wasn’t standing so sure, call it laying prone on your ground (during a beatdown) instead.
