RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - The CEO of a Raleigh marketing firm is apologizing for an ad posted on Twitter that depicted an ISIS execution - and a burger.
Valor Media created the campaign for a Washington, D.C., chain called Z-Burger.
Over the weekend, a tweet was sent out that showed a photo of American journalist James Foley moments before he was executed by ISIS in 2014 - along with the image of a hamburger.
Z-Burger had the tweet removed within an hour. Michael Valor, whose business created the tweet, says he takes full responsibility and posted a video on Twitter apologizing.
Valor also said that his company will be helping to raise money for the Foley Fund.

There’s a video at the source of the CEO apologizing which starts out with “What’s up guys....”
The creative types should lay off the drugs.
How did anyone think this was OK?
If you have a one man socialist networking media operation, is it fair to call yourself CEO?
In what world is this even ok???? What a freakin psycho!
Kathy Griffin is doing a victory tour through some large public owned civic venues.
Plus, z burger is totally on board. You hire a marketing company to create ads and you get the final say on what gets thrown out to the world. They had to sign off on the project.
Z burger needs to die. Their apology means nothing.
That doesn’t even work as “aw gawd that’s awful but I get it”, like Anthony Jeselnik’s stuff. (If you “get it”, I don’t want to know.) Maybe “drugs” is indeed the simple answer.
Forgetting about the ISIS angle for a moment what marketing company representing a high dollar burger joint even include a reference to McDonalds as competition?
As you say, they name another burger joint. Worse, it implies that when someone says "burger" the first place that pops into most people's minds is the competition... A competing place that targets a different market segment, so you're missing your market... Sheesh, I'm not even in the ad business and I can immediately recognize this as a dumb idea with a capital 'D'...
Live, from his mom’s kitchen... haha
Shows how little these clowns get it.
Another 20-something Demwit with too much money and influence. Thanks Rebelbase.
How do these sick, immature idiots get these jobs??
“If you have a one man socialist networking media operation, is it fair to call yourself CEO?”
He probably uses the title to pick up dumb chicks.
“Valor Media “CEO”: “What’s up guys?””
His Twitter mea culpa was almost as bad as his Z-Burger ad. The kid does not need to be in the public eye....especially offering his online audience “forgiveness” in advance for mistakes THEY will make in the future.
Tone deaf.
“How do these sick, immature idiots get these jobs??”
This is his company he started a few years ago. Probably because nobody would hire him.
He needs to lay off the amphetamines..
Congratulate him, he will now be a case study in what not to do for marketing classes across the country. Right up there with New Coke.
