It’s not a “slip.” The truth is that his dad and relatives all come from Kenya. His heritage is Kenyan. He’s not “African American,” he’s Kenyan American. Or at least Kenyan.

I’m sure that was the meaning of his statement. Obama is not stupid. He would never admit that he was constitutionally unqualified to be president.
But at the same time Obama is rather helpless without a teleprompter. So he says dumb things. I’m surprised that he didn’t say he was president of Kenya.
