He’s a seal team six member all full of badassery and stuff.

I've never seen an episode of this show, so I have to ask, "how much time does each episode devote to the main characters preening in the mirror, surfing and working on their tans, or pumping iron?"

“Yeah, because there are lots of Navy SEAL families so utterly unfamiliar with firearms they don’t know how to drop a magazine and rack a slide.”

My wife and I both have our CHL’s and have for about twenty years or thereabouts. And, we both qualified and requalified with semi 9mm’s. However, my wife packs a Ruger Speed Six 38spl 2 1/2” barrel. Reason being she doesn’t shoot enough to develop muscle memory to do the things necessary to operate a semi reliably in a threat situation. Hence, the double action revolver. Pull the trigger and it goes bang.

I was watching a ‘Blue Bloods’ rerun episode recently. The ADA character, Erin Reagan, was talking to the heavy-set DA’s investigator. The dialog went something like this:

ADA Reagan: I wonder if he (a suspect) knows anything.
Investigator: I doubt it. He’s too stupid.
ADA Reagan: Yeah. That would be like asking Sarah Palin about foreign policy.

I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. Such an unnecessary - and juvenile - smear! I’d expect to hear something like that on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. But not on a show where Tom Selleck has some pull.

Is Ricky the pitcher or the catcher?

No surprise that the writers committed professional suicide by their poor decisions. The show has been cancelled due to poor ratings.

You’ve hit on my main rule for evaluating a new TV action show. If the majority of the main actors are pretty boys and glamour girls, then it’s not worth watching.

Sadly, that covers almost every TV action show these days. So I think I’ll just stick to watching old episodes of Dragnet.

The correct message would be the SEAL team members out on the range showing their families how to be responsible with a gun, when they can use one legally to protect themselves and when not to, and of course; how to clean them after the range trip. Simple and honest.

I watched this episode last night and thought to myself that no self-respect special forces member would act like this and what the heck was he doing rifling (pun intended) through his wife’s car even before he had a chance to come in and see her after his deployment. Such SJW hypocrisy.

Good guys and gals know how to use a firearm to stop bad guys and gals. Simple.

I suspect that an Assistant District Attorney in New York City would probably use much worse language. I agree with you that it un-necessary and juvenile, but it probably does fit the character.

"...pull the trigger and it goes bang..."

Lots of good and valid reasons to utilize a nice high-quality revolver for CCW daily.
The reality is the typical encounter with 2-legged or 4-legged threats likely doesn’t require 12+ rounds and a reload.

"...new magazine backwards..."

Saw that and simply attributed it to a very high-stress situation that was rapidly resolved.

As I noted in my original comment.

It was just an observation.

I noticed that, too. That officer needs some practice. That could have gotten him killed.

I started shooting at about 8. Then I joined a NRA rifle club at 9-12. I was taken hunting by my father and learned how to field dress animals, deer, rabbit, squirrels, ect. Firearms were literally part of my life growing up. I bought my first rifle for myself at 12 from Sears. No parental consent, nothing. I took the rifle home on my Sting Ray bike with ape hangers and a banana seat riding down the main street of my town for at least 3 miles with no one freaking out calling the cops. I went into the military in the Nam era and was an expert on the M14 and Marksman with the M-16. They were phasing out the M14 to the M16 at the time so I had to qualify with both.

Got married and trained my wife with a 1911 Colt 45, 12ga. pump, 357 magnum, and a 30.06 deer rifle. Had a daughter and trained her with range safety, gun safety, hunting, and field dressing animals by the time she was 12. Home schooled her and today she is a police officer and carries a Glock .40, 12ga Benneli, and an AR-15. She is the best shot of about 15-20 officers in her town and has been invited to train for a sniper, but it doesn't pay any more, so she will most likely turn it down.

I don't understand how a Seal Team member could not, or would not, train up his family with the skills he was given to become a Seal. Just normal life would command that you give your own family the skills it would take to survive and lead others in case the worst happens. For me, this is so unrealistic anyone can see that this was an editorial position taken by the writers. I've watched the series from the beginning, but I may have to send a "CC" of this to the network. Why are we expected to suspend all common sense just to watch a TV show? I'm still looking for one of them to "come out of the closet" to show how "diverse" the military is now. It seems to be mandatory to have a stool pusher in every show and movie. Maybe "Bear" will be shown to be banging women to stay undercover so the surfer won't know how attracted he is to him.
