For all those people whining that the President didn't show enough "respect" to the Queen, it may have been both ways.

April 2009: Obama gives Queen Elizabeth an iPod

White visiting the Queen, the Obama family gave her an iPod, prompting raised eyebrows from the British Press. The MP3 player came pre-loaded with photos from President Obama’s inauguration and audio files of the president’s speech as a senator to the 2004 Democratic National Convention and his 2009 inauguration address.

The queen reportedly already had an iPod.

It gets much worse. Her cooks served brussels sprouts - as a an in-your-face for President Trump's support of Brexit.

Get it? Because queenie wants to be ruled by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. That will show him! He didn't eat them, but still...

It might be that she selected a piece of jewelry gifted by another American president as a way to honor him, too. To show her respect for the office and the country.

What is it with these “journalists” and their constant insertion of negativity into everything?

More likely, the brooch was seen as a gift from (more or less) an American, so it was worn as a sign of respect and gratitude toward America.

Elizabeth’s choice to wear the Obamas’ gift on the same day Trump arrived in England might have been a coincidence, but considering the number of brooches the Queen has, some pundits are thinking it was a deliberate choice.

Maybe the Queen and family need to help make up the difference in the NATO bill for their host country...

That’s ridiculous. The Queen doesn’t “throw shade.” A nice gift from an American president does not throw shade on another president. Since some of the Queen’s attire is symbolic, this can well be read in a positive light. People are desperate to find something to attack Trump on.

There are some Brits going around claiming she wears the colors of Brexit while others see the EU in her frocks.

I do not see the Obama brooch in any of the Trump pictures.

Pitiful little junior high pranks pass for statecraft now and some (cough cough) think Donald Trump is the problem. Grow up for god’s sake.

Queen Elizabeth’s reign saw England’s transition from a safe and independent country of Englishmen, to a vassal state of Brussels, teeming with jihad and other menaces courtesy of an imported third-world population.

She never once used her bully pulpit to fight against the destruction of her people,

Useless woman. Useless institution.

The Queen doesn’t choose her outfits. They are all laid out for her by her team of three dressers. Who even knows their political knowledge or leanings.
